List of Anjali Martinez's Reviews
Had the single worst medical care of my life by Dr Martinez. I asked her to stop a very painful procedure TWICE and she continued to do it anyway. I passed out on the table. I had to go to another doctor to follow up and fix the procedure. Dr Martinez never offered me any type of pain management before, during, or after the visit. When I asked for at least some Tylenol, she and the nurse couldn't find any in the ENTIRE office. How does that even happen at a "world-class medical center"? So shady and sloppy. When I complained to GW, they had Dr Martinez cold-call me to offer the worst non-apology I've heard in my life. Beyond traumatizing and offensive. When I tried to complain about that, GW stopped responding. This practice does not care about the rights and well-being of patients. I've never felt so thoroughly violated before and now have a hard time trusting medical professionals.
The best ob/gyn I've ever seen. Anjali is thorough and caring, great energy, knowledgable about the latest women's health issues. GW is terrible and I frequently have to wait more than an hour for my appointments, but I think it's worth it for Dr. Martinez.
Dr. Martinez has been my physician for about 8 years now, and has been great. I had some challenging health issues, and she was extremely sympathetic as well as knowledgeable, and was able to offer some tips and ideas that ended up being very helpful. The practice itself is a bit of a mess, and it can be hard to get an appointment, and when you do have one, it's generally best to expect for them to be running a good 30 minutes behind.
Unfortunately as is frequently the case with GW, it is basically impossible to make an appointment. I called and waited and waited to talk to a person. Gave up. Tried again. Waited again. I finally got to talk to someone and asked for an appointment however I was told hang on a minute, “I’ll go check her schedule” and a few minutes later four beeps and I was disconnected! I’d have to begin from scratch to spend part of the day waiting to talk to someone again. Did the woman from GW call me back? Absolutely not. It is not worth it to be treated this way. Seems common to all GW medical phone answering. Very distasteful.
Overall, Dr. Martinez seems approachable with a good bedside manner. But in my experience, when I questioned some of her advice, I found her to be insensitive to my concerns. While the few prenatal appointments I had with her were fine, when I was actually in the hospital giving birth, I felt like she was treating me just like another patient without considering my specific situation.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
