List of Benjamin E. Stein's Reviews
Spent 5 minutes with my daughter. She was so excited to get an expert opinion on how to resolve her knee issues so that she could continue her fitness path and he shut her down. “You should never run again.” Really? A 33 year old woman? Nope. And all of that in a 5 minute appointment.
Dr Stein is an excellent orthopedic surgeon - particularly for anyone who is an athlete or active and demands a lot from their limbs. His PA and Clinical team are extremely responsive and helpful answering any questions you might have before or after surgery. I had already had one surgery on my foot from another Dr that didn't work. Dr Stein performed the surgery successfully by doing a more comprehensive repair as he identified additional issues that needed to be fixed. Throughout the pre-surgery process Dr Stein was very clear explaining what had gone wrong and what he likely needed to do. Afterwards during the recovery phase he provided very detailed instructions on how to rebuild strength in the operative limb - from recommended items to aid with elevation, a program to progressively weight load, and a comprehensive physical therapy schedule that provided movement limitations to help the PTs provide proper care. Every step of the way from day one to month six I knew what I was allowed to do and what I should work on.
I highly recommend Dr. Stein and his team for anyone in need of orthopedic care; specifically foot/ankle. My experience with them was exceptional from the very beginning. Lauren, his assistant, was incredibly thorough during the consultation, making it easy to discuss my terrible ankle injury and ask any questions. When Dr. Stein explained the surgery, I felt confident that I was in capable hands. Scheduling my first surgery was quick, and despite the initial anxiety, I always felt supported. Lauren was just a call or email away to address any concerns post-surgery. The second surgery to remove hardware went smoothly after weeks of physical therapy, and I was well-informed throughout the entire process. The post-treatment care was excellent, with x-rays and check-up visits making me confident in my healing. One more great aspect of Dr. Stein's practice is the option for physical therapy within the same building, making the whole experience seamless. If you're looking for expert orthopedic care and a supportive team, Dr. Stein and his group are the right choice.
Horrible health care! I was referred to Dr stein and he was terrible. He walked in didn't ask any questions, barely looked at my foot, interrupted me and talked over me multiple times. He was rude and made assumptions about my activities without checking to confirm. My treatment plan was 2 handouts with stretches. I asked if someone would show me any of them and they explicitly said no. But I could call with questions. Additionally, I expressed that I had pain in my ankle and hip. Past physical therapists said the hip pain was because of compensation from my ankle. Dr Stein it likely was something different but gave no recommendations for how to address it independently. Just come back in a month if it still bothers you. Stay away!
I went to Ben Stein after suffering from a protracted period of foot pain. Despite a very active and healthy lifestyle before this injury, it limited me for 3 months to only walking and just recently yoga/basic stretching. Aside from regular tightness in my right leg, the pain came out of nowhere and was very troubling. I suspected a stress fracture in my fifth metatarsal. He took an x-ray and then came into the office to provide his diagnosis of tendonitis. He ordered me to continue resting for another 6-8 weeks and to do physical theory. I asked how he could be sure that it was not a stress fracture/reaction without an MRI since often stress fractures never show up on x-rays. I also mentioned that this type of tendonitis injury is very rare and now has happened twice to me in the last 10 years so it may be good to take a look at my ankle (since I had sprained it badly over a decade ago) to see if it was the underlying cause. His response was that there was "zero reason for an MRI" and left the room. I then sent him an email pleading with him to not guess about my condition and send me for comprehensive imaging so that we can be sure on the right approach. He did not reply. This is a level of arrogance and dismissiveness that I have yet to see from any doctor in my life. Without imaging, he does not know for absolute certain what my injury is and does not know whether my ankle is in a chronic/degenerative state. He therefore cannot be sure that PT alone is the best approach for my long term health. He attributed my condition to normal wear and tear with age even though I only just turned 34! In short, I'd recommend Ben Stein to no one. It's one thing to be wrong/misguided with good intentions. It's another thing to be condescending and insult the intelligence of your patients. After my appointment, I spoke to several other doctors/Orthopedic surgeons who were shocked at this behavior. I will be seeking another opinion where they have some humility and gather all the available information before devising an approach to fix something that has already sidelined me (multiple times) for many months.

From start to finish Dr Stein was fantastic. From diagnosis, surgery plan and recover/rehab Dr Stein and his team are superstars!! 110% satisfaction
Best Of The Best God Blessed you
I am truly happy to have had Dr. Benjamin Stein as my orthopedic surgeon. Despite multiple significant fractures in my ankle, I never experienced any pain or other major side effects immediately after the surgery or at any time afterwards. His PA – Lauren George - helped me live through my recovery process in full confidence that all my concerns will be answered almost immediately in a very knowledgeable and professional way. It is an incredible team, and I wish anyone an opportunity to be in their care should a misfortune occur.
Dr. Stein and PA-C George provided excellent care to our son who suffered devastating ankle ligament injury during his college showcase tournament in his junior year. The surgery timing and precision were very critical for our son’s pursuit to be recruited by college coaches. Dr. Stein and PA-C George’s and careful rehabilitation instructions and protocols as well as their close monitoring of recovery process over the year were true teamwork for all of us. Thanks to their understanding in student athlete’s life and thoughtful care and treatment, our son has recovered well in the exact timeframe of Dr. Stein’s treatment plan. 6 months post-surgery, he was back on the pitch playing on his high school varsity team. A year after the surgery, he has proudly committed to play soccer at NCAA Division 2 level in college. Thank you, Dr. Stein and PA-C George!!

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process.
