Dr. Abell seemed like a good surgeon from our consultation and that is why it's not easy for me to write this review. However, when people take time out their busy schedule to make this appointment and are stuck with a co-pay, the office staff has to be better especially when it was Dr. Abell's suggestion I should get this surgery sooner than later for my belly button hernia. He told me someone from the scheduling department would reach out by the end of the day to book my surgery. No one did. I gave it about a week, then called. They said someone would call me back, no one did. I called again this time to book or speak to Dr. Abell. No call back from anyone. Fast forward to a month later, I get an email saying here are my surgery prep details for this day when I never spoke to anyone about this or agreed on a day. I had already moved on to another surgeon so that was a conflict. I told them to cancel it, they apologized and said Dr. Abell will call me back himself. Not that it matters now, but still no call back. They seem to be too unorganized over there to let them operate on me.

I have had the pleasure to work with Dr. Abell as his scribe. He is phenomenal doctor, shadowing him through it all, working along with him made me realize WHY I want to pursue medicine. He is a great dad, great doctor, great mentor. I loved learning from him. I miss working with him. May you always be well and happy Dr. Abell! Wish you good health always! Take care. It took multiple months to get a date set for my surgery. After the date was set I was never informed and had to proactively seek the date and time. 2 days prior to the actual surgery I was told that my insurance wouldn’t allow the procedure due to the DC location. The process felt extremely contrived and ultimately a waste of 2 months for what could have been figured out in a few days.
