Dr Fossett operated on my husband in 2010. He did a lumbar discectomy, a Howard Univ Hospital. My husband was discharged with an infected spine, a CSF LEAK. Discharged in the middle of the night, transported because he could not stand up, to home. An ambulance had to be called, to transport him to HCH ER. Repeated attempts at phoning him went unanswered. My husband was re operated on at Johns Hopkins in Balt. NO ONE COULD UNDERSTAND WHY THIS PATIENT HAD BEEN DISCHARGED WITH AN ACTIVE CSF LEAK. HE ALMOST DIED. CHOOSE CAREFULLY.
Our family wishes to express our heartfelt appreciation for the kindness and excellent care our mother. Howard Hospital has the worst oncology team, but Mom received the best care from Dr Fossett and his excellent staff during her hospitalization in Of course we are very saddened by her death, but we are comforted in knowing that she received the best care available. The sensitivity and support of your fine staff helped us through what was a very difficult time, and we will never forget your kindness. Please express our appreciation to everyone who worked with Mom.
Dr. Fossett and his staff were extremely helpful and so nice. They truly understood my pain and what I needed to fix my issue. The surgery was an outstanding success and they hand excellent follow through. I couldn't ask for a better staff. WOW!
Dr. Fossett correctly diagnosed my back issue and both he and his staff worked so hard in getting my insurance approvals and doing what needed to be done to get my operation asap. Dr. Fossett grew up with back issues himself, so he knows what his patients are going through. I think everyone reading this should see him to get the relief they need and the care they deserve!
My experience with this doctor was great. It's just that since my surgery in 2001, I am still suffering from chronic lower back pain.
Dr. Fossett operated on my neck in August 2009. I had a complete recovery, regaining the use of my hands and being able to walk the evening of the surgery. When I needed Lumbar surgery in 2011, there was no question about who would do the surgery. Even though I had to travel 2 hours each way to get to the appointments and to go into the hospital, Dr. Fossett was the only person I would go to. I was in Howard University Hospital for 5 days. I was walking that afternoon, without pain. Howard University Hospital was phenominal. Dr. Fossett and his staff were extremely attentive and pro-active. I have had very little pain and had a complete recovery. I wold recommend Dr. Fosset to anyone. Both of my surgeries were complex and both were very successful.
Amazing surgeon and doctor - took care of me fast and right. Really cares and takes the time to teach me about what's wrong and how to get better. Thankyou Dr. Fossett
So far this doctor was very paient with me. He explained indetail what I needed. He was a little silly, it kind of broke the ice. I am considering letting him operate on me. He was honesty with me about the risk of surgery.
DR FOSSET FIXED A BOTCHED LUMBAR DISC SURGERY FOR ME WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT. I ARRIVED AT THE E.R COMPLAINING OF SEVERE POST OP PAIN 6 WEEKS AFTER BACK SURGERY FROM ANOTHER UN NAMED DOCTOR, HE RE MRI SCANNED ME AND OPERATED THE NEXT MORNING. HE FIXED THE PROBLEM . HE WASNT THE BEST AT PUNCTUALITY ,BUT HIS BEDSIDE MANNERS AND SURGEON SKILLS ARE TOP NOTCH PERIOD. THATS WHAT MATTERS IN MY CASE.
When I was in Holy Cross hospital with a skull fx this neurosurgeon never saw me or evaluated me, did not even look at my chart, yet he signed off on a paper to get my license taken away because I was medically unfit to drive. I have documentation of this. I went to another neurosurgeon and he evaluated me and said my license should of never been taken away. I had a court hearing and recieved my license back on the spot. A doctor who does not evaluate you has no right to state you are medically not fit to drive. Be careful.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
