If you're looking for high quality patient care, this is the place to go
Trying to reach ANYONE here to leave a message for my doctor is turning into an all-day affair. I've called 5 times, and each time the line disconnects after I've been waiting on hold for 10-30 minutes. Meanwhile, the practice's "my chart" portal won't allow me to send a message. This, along with long wait times for appointments and to see a doctor on the day of your appointment (usually an hour+) make the practice unusable, even if I do like my doctor.
Hopkins has great medicine.
Outstanding staff, Amazing doctors!!
Dr. Andrew Lee has been my primary care physician for almost 10 years now - he is a great listener, he's very patient and kind, and he always takes the time to explain the background of each diagnosis and treatment so I understand exactly what is going on medically - something that I think is much more rare today when a lot of doctors rush you in and out. The office staff is friendly and efficient. Over the years I have always felt very welcome and looked after there. I was also grateful that he remained in-network when I switched jobs and went from Blue Cross Blue Shield to United Healthcare coverage. Lastly, I appreciate having access to Johns Hopkins medicine even though I live in DC. I can't recommend Dr. Lee and his office highly enough.
I've been going here for years under two different physicians. I've been with Dr. Cynthia Lee for a little over two years now and she's great! She takes time with you, is very thorough and she listens! because of a chronic health condition I visit quarterly and find the support team and lab to be generally friendly and efficient. In the time I've been visiting this office, I've had one scheduling mishap which resulted in me having to make an additional visit but they were very apologetic. Other than that I have not had any problems. This is covid-era and, in my experience, they do a great job of communicating expectations of your visit beforehand whether you schedule by phone or through MyChart. I love them and will continue to have my visits here.
Dr Lee is great but the the JHCP management team seems to only care about making more money. I was looking for a new GP doctor in the area and called to schedule a physical exam. I was told that first a new patient appointment is needed, no indication was given that I would visit the doctor or that this would be billed as a regular medical request appointment. Even when I met the doctor she didn't know I was there for this "new patient" service but rather that the system shows I made an appointment for a medical reason. When I explained to her that I asked for a physical she replied that she doesn't understand why the representative on the phone didn't schedule it. In any case she said that we would do the physical at that time and asked me if I have fasted. I had not fasted since I was there for this "new patient" visit and instead my medical record was checked since I was there. I was visiting JHCP in Baltimore some years ago and they could access it so a conversation started and another appointment for my physical was scheduled. The result is that a claim for a medical request was opened with my insurance and I am billed $250. I talked with the management team there and the JHCP customer service and their feedback is that since a conversation about medical items was done then this a regular visit. JHCP pushes a new patient visit, does not disclose that this will be a regular doctor visit or the charge, the doctor starts a conversation since you are there and this results in medical services that the patient is billed for. Very disappointed with JHCP and I find this business process unethical especially during the pandemic when office visits should be minimized. I am also sad because Dr Lee is a good doctor and I really looked forward having her as my GP.
Great doctors but they charge for follow up visits without disclosing that the follow up costs over $100. Had we known the cost, we wouldn't have gone.
Such a great office! The staff are so courteous and patient with answering questions and scheduling. Dr. Cynthia is attentive and actually discusses your concerns with you. The clinic is clean and well organized, with little to no wait time.
Have been with JHCP for 2 years. It's in a convenient location and good staff and physicians. Cynthia Lee is a kind physician and even though she was running very behind on my first appointment, she didn't rush my appointment and still went through the entire patient history etc... with me. I can't speak to the billing issues folks have had issues with, but so far so good (so fingers crossed). My only complaint would be wait time-- even if you show up early and check in and get into your room on time-- the wait to see the physician can still take another 30 minutes- so bring a book. The online portal is very convenient to see test results.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
