I really appreciate how Dr. Ferrell takes the time to make sure that you understand everything he is saying. He can also read expression very well and seems to know if you're confused or have a question which I admire.

Dr. Ferrell and his assistant Barry Thompson are THE BEST! They take their time and explain every single thing. They listen and have actual conversations about treatments needed or not needed. They do NOT rush to say surgery is the only way. Actually, that is the last topic up for discussion. I have recommended several people and all have sung songs of praise and gratitude. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

I had a great sports med evaluation appointment with Barry Thompson here. My review of the care I've received would be 5 stars. However, the front desk is very difficult to get ahold of. They had scheduled a follow-up appointment for me that I didn't want/need but figured it would be no big deal to cancel later. But it was a big deal. You can't cancel appointments online, and the front office doesn't answer the phone reliably. I tried calling several days before my follow-up appointment to cancel it but no answer. Finally I just left a message the day before my appointment indicating I needed to cancel. I got a $100 no-show fee despite my message. They then called me to say the policy is 48h notice so I owed the fee since my message was the day before even though I had tried calling to cancel several days earlier. I didn't even want this appt in the first place. If you go here, just be aware of this unforgiving policy and don't accept appts you don't want.

Dr. Ferrell operated on me in partnership with Dr. Hashemi, of the Nerve Bone Institute. They failed to close my pelvic incision and I was forced to go to 2 different ER's in DC. I'm left a cripple and can barely walk. Neither doctor bothered to come to the ER. Very dangerous group of doctors . Stay away.
