Robert D Bunning's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Bunning is a good and I have seen him for a number of years. However, during the pandemic he was reluctant re putting me on the meds infusion that would help my RA and only would prescribed various meds by month and a few injection which did not help me. My inflammation level were high and my primary Dr Chary was concerned after reading my blood work in August 2022 showing my inflammation was in the 100's ask me to see Dr Bunning immediately to get the level in control. This was in August and Oct. 2021. By March 2022 my inflammation level had gone from previous 100's to 473 and I was in sever pain and really very sick and had to go on Prednisone. On April 8th Dr. Bunning get approval for the Retucsin infusion which I had not had since 2018. I just feel that Dr Bunning should have listened to Dr. Chary' and me earlier say in August and October 2021, therefore treating me sooner and I would not have gotten so sick. Thank you!

I needed to find a new, good rheumatologist who participates with my Maryland Medicaid Managed Care Option ("MCO") - out of work due to the pandemic - and located a physician NOT on my MCO's list of participating doctors. I researched and discovered that Medstar Health generally participates with Maryland Medicaid, and I was very lucky to find Medstar-affiliated rheumatologist Dr. Robert Bunning - with a Bethesda, MD office aside from one in DC - who takes my Managed Care Option (not all Medstar doctors take all Medicaid MCOs). I made an appointment for the next week, and I found Dr. Bunning to have a great bedside manner: listens attentively, explains clearly, offers possible treatments...and he wasn't rushed. He ordered more tests to try to narrow down the condition for my symptoms and called me 2 days later with the results. So relieved to have found such a wonderful rheumatologist who also participates with Medicaid, and I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Bunning.

While hospitalized at National Rehabilitation Hospital Dr. Bunning treated me as hospitalist. He was attentive and identified early signs of a life-threatening condition, which, when it became manifest, he treated promptly and aggressively. It is probable that he saved my life. Wonderful physician.

I encountered Dr. Bunning as a patient at National Rehabilitation Hospital, where he was the chief hospitalist. His insightful examination, close observation, and decisive and timely action saved my life. I cannot appreciate him more.

Wonderful doctor! Dr. Bunning is a rare gem. He takes his time getting to know you and your issues, is professional and extremely knowledgeable.

Was my first Rhemotologist and I would have never change to a different doctor if it wasn't for my health insurance. He kept me well informed about my Lupus and I was always laughing because of his great bedside manner. I have never found another doctor like him. He took his time and showed concern for my health that's why I am returning to his care! He is up to date on all the medical things to make me better! 5 stars to Dr Robert Bunning!
