Hello, I never visited this doctor and the office billed my plan which was denied. Maybe the office gets your info from reading free COVID tests done by local lab trucks?
Fraudulent billing! This doctor's office submitted hundreds of dollars in claims to my insurance over multiple months, even though I live in a different state and have never been there nor had any testing sent to them. I looked on google reviews, and two other people (one in North Carolina, and one in Colorado) reported that this office also sent claims to their insurance even though they've never gone there.
I have not even had an opportunity to meet the doctor and her staff already lied by saying they called to confirm an appointment before I can even provide the woman my name. I cancelled the appointment and reported the office to my health care provider.
This doctor's office is a fraud. I went here one time for blood work and they charged me a co-pay, which i paid at the time. They then sent me a bill for the co-pay although I paid it and told them so. They then sent $25 to collections. I am not the only person who has complained about billing fraud from this office. Stay away.
WORST RECEPTIONIST ON THE PLANET. So rude and does not care about the health of the patience. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. On Friday I came in to see Dr. Thornton. Upon my arrival, I checked in and began waiting for our appointment. I waited for OVER AN HOUR for my appointment, and was then told by the front desk manager, "Marley", that the doctor no longer had time to see me, as she was under the impression I was coming in to simply get a prescription changed rather than have a general doctors visit to discuss possible medication alternatives to what I am currently taking for anxiety (not working for me as the medicine is making my nightmares much worse). I then had no other option but to rescheduled an appointment for the following week to go back. Understanding the situation, I asked the front desk nurse for a recommendation for a different medicine that would not have the side affect of enhanced / vivid dreams, or to have the doctor call me with any suggestions or alternative solutions. The front desk manager was extremely rude and told me she could not "put words in the doctors mouth" and that "this was something I needed to speak directly with the doctor about". I then left, and called back to try to get in contact with the doctor directly for advice. After nobody answered the main phone the first 2 times I called, I called again to leave a message assuming they were closed for the night. I then called the doctor on the direct # given to leave her the same message in case she could get back to me that way. Minutes later I got a call from the front desk manager "Marley" saying I was no longer allowed to be a patient with this doctors practice because I "borderline harassed" them by calling and leaving a message... I felt absolutely horrified, being denied as a patient and being told to "find a new doctor" in a time of severe anxiety. I began to cry and immediately felt as if my own doctor could not help me. This was the absolute most HORRIBLE experience myself or anyone I know has ever had with a doctors practice. My family and I will be reporting this, and as a social media influencer, I will be telling my 11,000 followers to never EVER step foot in this office. I am simply appalled.
Karen is the worst doctor I've ever had the misfortune to go to. I went on last Friday as I had sore throat and fever, after some swab collection she prescribed me a medicine with no diagnoses. 3 days later my condition is still the same, I call back to see her because at this point I have so much pain eating and drinking, I'm about to die! The receptionist says oh she can prescribe you something else without seeing!!!! I was like no she has to see me, it won't take long. She puts me on hold and then comes back and says I'll call you later when she gets in. I said okay, I didn't expect a call and the call never came. She doesn't care if you live or die as long as you can give her the $20 and a signed poster of your broadway cast. What a loser and a hack!

I have come to see Dr. Thornton at the 42nd street location three times for varying reasons and I have decided that I am going elsewhere the next time I need a doctor. It has more to do with her nasty receptionist and the incredibly long wait time than anything else. Today I was the first patient in the office and was still seen an hour later. Her receptionist gave me an attitude, as usual, because I asked if my prescription had been sent over to my pharmacy. Absolutely disgusting lady. I'm not going back.
I see they have not updated their address. The office is on W 42nd St.They seem to move in a dream state in this office, oblivious to patient's needs.I don't want to go into details but I am not recommending them. The doctor seems a bit to free with the Rx pad. I want a doctor that will help me without throwing prescription medication at me. Acupuncture, supplements, excercise, physical therapy are much better recommendations!
The absolute worst. Complete and utter incompetence and lack of care. First visit after my records were transferred to her without my consent. Truly unfortunate since my old gp was the best. I went to fill two prescriptions that I've taken for years, waited one hour, didn't fill out any forms, they just collected my copay. I met two PA's who both took my blood pressure. The second PA asked me questions regarding my pharmacy and spent the better part of the next hour speaking behind closed doors with Karen Thorton, whom I have still yet to meet, to what he should do and calling up every rite aid in Brooklyn. Literally question after question, Door opens and closes. I could hear her voice responding to the PA but she never introduced herself, never asked me a thing, never opened the door. One star goes to him, he was kind and rightly frustrated. I leave with only one prescription for what is half the dosage and half the amount. I can't even think to address her as a medical professional. People place trust in medical professional as if they are Mystics. My original gp was just a caring, intelligent and thoughtful person who did his absolute best to speak to me and understand me and really care for me. I really thought being a medical professional was predicated upon the hippocritic oath or just connecting with the patient, possibly being a diagnostic. I'm really not sure what Karen Thorton does for a living. Just awful. You suck.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
