Susanne Bathgate's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Bathgate was my ob over twenty years ago and I was not able to carry the pregnancy full term which ended up being a blessing in disguise. She was respectful, encouraging, kind and knowledgeable. She was born to do this work. For that I was willing to wait happily.

I will forever be grateful to Dr. Bathgate for taking me through a difficult pregnancy, bedrest, an expected c section and a beautiful healthy preemie. Throughout she was kind, understanding and honest. All this was several years ago and you can really even see the scar, not even in a bikini as she did such a great job with it.

Dr. Bathgate was my OB when I was a medical student years ago and she saved my baby's life. I had dilated early at 19 weeks due to a kidney infection and she had to perform a cervical cerclage and she she saved him. Thanks to her hands and God's hands, he will be 20 soon. She also was kind and supportive and had a wonderful bedside manner. I will never forget her and will always be grateful.

I've seen Dr. Bathgate throughout my pregnancy and I certainly have never had a problem with wait times like others have said. I would say the average wait time has been about 15 minutes. She is very direct and to the point, and I appreciate that. I have never felt she was rushed and always asks me what additional questions I might have at the end of each appointment. I think she's been great. And above all she is extremely knowledgable, which is probably the most important thing. You can tell that she's got years and years of experience, probably decades of experience I would guess.

Dr.Bathgate has been my OB since the delivery of my first baby.She is not warm and fluffy more reserved but gets the job done. I usually see students prior to her which is OK how else do you learn? Wait time is crazy, bring a snack! I don't care if it says no eating I'm pregnant and will snack lol. The admins are nice just be nice to them learn their names,be cordial and it's all good. I delivered 2 babies at GW and enjoyed my stay. Dr.B did not deliver my babies a doc and resident did. I had great nurses both times. My first delivery the whole class came in I didn't care they were super quiet and smiling. Hated the dumb questions they asked while I was in labor. I learned you can send them away. You can also request no students be present at the delivery. Both of my births were uneventful which was good.Overall great experiences.

Dr. Bathgate is just mean. There is no other way to put it. Meeting with her was an awful experience in comparison to the other providers that I have met with at GW. I will never speak with this doctor again. Not only is she only lightly competent she seems to enjoy being impolite and rude. Go see someone else if they ever try to book you with her. It isn't worth the trauma of speaking with someone that will enjoy verbally assaulting you.

Dr. Bathgate is wonderful. I truly feel that I wouldn't have my two amazing daughters if it wasn't for her. She is calm and confident and no nonsense but you know she cares. She took care of my children in utero as if they were her own and she left nothing to chance. Would highly recommend especially if you are considered high risk or advance maternal age.

Regardless of whether it is a normal 10 min check up or longer, and regardless of whether your appointment is in the morning or afternoon, the normal wait time for Dr. Bathgate is around 1.5 hours. Next time, we will bring our tent and sleeping bag to camp out at the waiting area for our appointment to be called ;)

I had a very good experience with Dr. Bathgate and the GW nursing staff. The delivery team was also quite professional and so kind.
