List of The Centers For Advanced Orthopaedics, Orthopaedic Medicine And Surgery - Washington's Reviews
The ortho clinic was fine. No complaints. The physical therapy clinic was awful. My therapist’s demeanor was vaguely resentful with no clear explanation. The PT practice was super busy. It was like being in an airport terminal. You check in and pay at a kiosk and the front desk announces that “all 7:30s can go back”. I felt I was boarding a Southwest Airlines flight.
I noticed after going to this office for a few months that they were billing me double. Appointments had billing codes for 2 manual therapy sessions, two exercise sessions, etc. even though I went for a single session at a time. I asked repeatedly for this to be adjusted, but the billing office said this is what happens if your PT massages you for longer than 15 minutes or you go over your time doing your exercises. I had no idea and was never told this. Additionally, they billed me other incorrect amounts. After realizing all of this, I stopped seeing them — and they owe me a $130 refund because of their billing mistakes — but even after all that, I continue to get bills in the mail from them for random amounts. Despite the fact that they owe me money! I don’t advise going here. It’s been a brutal and prolonged battle.
The Check-In process on the kiosk is old, outdated and difficult. You pay, then they ask for more money for you co-pay. It said it checked and charged appropriate. Front office staff rate a 1. They are all grumpy and unhappy. Wish I did not have to deal with them to get to my 5 star doctor.
This office is predatory and lacks empathy so beware. Normally I don't leave reviews but this place was that awful. The office told me I didn't have insurance (I do and used it recently at this office) and wanted a CC payment or they would be cancelling all of my PT appointments that I scheduled a few weeks ago. When I asked if they could wait before cancelling so I could contact the insurance company I was told no, my apts. were cancelled, and I was hung up on. According to my insurance company, the office never contacted them and they were shocked at the situation and treatment!! The office reached out to me after my insurance called them and of course they were nicer and offered to get me in a few weeks from now - over a month since my initial doctors visit, no thank you!
I called the Village Physical Therapy which is part of CAO in Woodbridge,VA today to cancel my appointment for Wednesday due to a personal emergency and work schedule , I was then told they had to cancel my next and also the following week, even though I would have had same therapist on the 23rd as this Wednesday. So I have cancelled all of them as it appears your staff is unwilling to work with me or accommodate my needs or schedule . It’s absolutely ridiculous to cancel all my appointments because this one was a re-eval when it could have been done on the 23rd when I saw my original therapist again. I have nothing against my therapists, but your clerical staff is sorely lacking and unhelpful.
The Checkin is painful. They use a kiosk that has a ridiculously tedious interface. It asks for information with no options to input the information. The online Checkin they ask patients to fill out is extensive and the kiosk asks for much of the same information again. The staff said, “We don’t have a day in this. The software is still a little glitchy.” I understand a clinic trying to save money on staffing, but don’t roll out the technology until it’s ready. It is disrespectful of your patients, many of whom arrive in considerable pain.
My first experience was a time wasting mess. I waited 2 1/2 hours before I saw the doctor past my appointment time. The front office team provides below par customer service, never smiling, never friendly. Dr. Raizman has been my physician. Honestly seems like he has so many patients so he doesn’t remember me after each appointment less than his notes. He has a mediocre bedside manner, doesn’t smile or make you feel welcomed. My concerns are always minimized and addressed with a smart comment. Definitely don’t feel heard throughout my treatment but instead, he speaks about me having an unnecessary surgery a lot and that makes me feel uncomfortable.
They undercharged me my first visit, and then tripled the charges for my subsequent visits. After calling the billing department time and time again for over a year (I spoke with Aiola, then Karla, then Karina, then Gladys, then Karen, and then Amber) and receiving two pre-collections notices (despite my account noting that it should not be sent to collections as I was disputing the charges), I finally received explanation for the charges. I was made to do a one single exercise that fit into a different billing category so they were able to bill more and more each visit.
Even though I took an early appointment— 8 — they kept me waiting. 17 mins and counting.
After an accident that left me barely able to stand, I went through doctors that would not even answer calls unless you are an athlete. Well I finally stumbled across this practice and they are everything a person deserves in a provider. They are caring and empathetic and so good at what they do. I will never be able to that them enough for their care.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
