Yolanda Holmes's Online Review Report Card

I'm reducing this review from five stars to four stars because Dr Holmes does not respond to portal messages. ------++++++ Doctor seemed nice and competent. Office entrance is a little difficult to find. They need to edit the automated appointment confirmation message to make the location clearer and remove the part about needing to show up 20 minutes early because it's not the case. Actually, when I had left they had put a sign (standee) outside which made it clear where the office was, but it wasn't there when I entered.

I never thought I would say this about a medical professional, but I must. This medical office first concern is NOT the well being of the patient but to charge as much as possible, and to take advantage of the health insurance. I went there for my annual exam. You will get charged BEFORE the doctor sees you, nor after. My exam consisted only on what I, with no medical training considered it was a problematic mole. The doctor didn't even bothered to look at the rest of my body. After she confirmed that the mole was not looking right, she said the proper procedure was to remove it and send it for a biopsy. Imagine my surprise when she came back into the room to let me know that although she was ready to do the removal, Billing will not allowed it in the first visit. I was told that I have to make another appointment, so they can do a 10 minute procedure, so they can charge my insurance AGAIN! I have been going to a dermatologist every six months for years, after living in Miami where you get exposed to the sun daily. NEVER before this has happened to me. This practice main concern is NOT the well being of the patient, but how maximize the ripping off your wallet and the insurance.

I went in for an appointment today after waiting for about a month. I've had a recurring issue that I wanted checked out by a derm. This was my first time going to a dermatologist, and I was excited that a black woman derm would see me. I come in early, and the office is closed for lunch between 12-1 pm. This isn't advertised anywhere so I was unware of the office closing. The front desk receptionist made me leave and return at my appointment time. In other offices, a person is usually left to wait inside the waiting room if they come too early. But I digress. I come back at my appointment time and Dr. Holmes sees me. Similar to the other reviews here, she barely looked at me. Prescribed me a shampoo, solution, and cream - didn't even bother telling me how and when to use them, and sent me on my way after less than 5 minutes. As a new client, she didn't even go over my skincare routine, what my problem areas were, or even what services her clinic could provide. Needless to say, I'm incredibly disappointed and will not be returning. And now, based on the reviews of how crazy people are saying this place's billing office is, I'll be keeping an eye out for whether or not they overcharge me for this 5-minute consultation.

Amazing service

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Holmes for over 15 years and she has always made each experience pleasant. She knows how to treat my skin conditions and the prescriptions that she prescribes are not harsh to my skin and scalp. I recommend that if you are a person of color with skin issues that you seek her medical and professional advice.

Stay away, I would give 0 stars if possible. By far the worst doctor I have ever seen, terrible bedside manner. Dr. Holmes does not take time to listen, rushes the appointment, didn't listen to concerns, and didn't take notes so every time I went back it was completely new to her. When trying to explain my situation, I have never been listened to, and then she questioned what I was doing -- even though I was following the instructions on the medication she prescribed. The receptionist and cleanliness of the office also leave a lot to be desired.I echo the sentiments of the other one-star reviews.

honestly is there any way to reach you all? This is the third time I try calling and every time its over an hour hold and I just give up...

Love Dr. Holmes and her staff. The front desk always welcomes you with a smile and willing to help. Dr. Holmes is so personable in her own shy way. I love her skin care products and buy them regularly. I always get raving compliments on my skin and don't have to wear foundation if I don't want to.
