I have surgery in December 2022, on my left shoulder to repair a torn rotator cuff. Dr. Zimmer did an excellent job. I’m 6 months post surgery and my shoulder feels like new. No more pain and almost 100 percent Mobil. Thank you, Dr. Zimmer.
My personal experience with Dr. Zimmerman was very poor. He examined me for about 5 minutes and I felt that he was very dismissive. I had shoulder pain and left arm, finger tingling and numbness. He only did a large number of x-rays (for billing purposes). I even discussed with him that the x-rays would only show a broken bone, but not a muscle, ligament or nerve damage. He diagnosed me with damaged/torn rotator cuff injury and prescribed PT. He said I had arthritis in my shoulder (s). I am 70 years old, of course I have arthritis. My pain and numbness became more and more severe, it woke me up during the night, driving was so very painful, and the symptoms were constant with intermittent degrees of severity. I went to another doctor and was diagnosed with the primary problem as a pinched nerve in my neck. After one treatment with traction, neck stretches, I felt 75%-to 80 % Relief. One of the worse experiences I have ever had with a doctor. If I could give a score lower than one star, I would.
This wasn't my first time seeing Dr Zimmerman today wasn't a good visit with him I'm in constant pain and he took my exam very lightly because I didn't show him how much pain I was in when you are use to the pain and you are doing everything you can to soothe the pain you become more patient with the pain level so he sending me out for more testing but his manners was very uncomfortable today for me that it bothered me and my family when I got home and talk to them about my experience with them today
Dr. Zimmer is indeed the doctor you wish to see for an orthopedic needs. Affable, speedy, intelligent, and knows his business very well. He will not talk you into surgery unless you absolutely need it, and will seek alternate methods of curing your ills (including PT and medicinal therapies). Have seen him several times for sports/workout related injuries, and he is the best hands down.
I injured my shoulder while doing a handstand the summer of 2020. Six months later, when it wasn't getting better, I had my first visit with Dr. Zimmer. He charted a course for my entire recovery process and was with me every step of the way. He was a great advocate for my health and bringing my activity levels to where they were pre-injury. Here is one small example that helps explain why Dr. Zimmer is so great: My shoulder, after my injury and before I saw him for the first time, hurt consistently. I still was able to power through the pain and movement levels, so in some ways I felt ridiculous going to a doctor for an injury that I could live with. When I went to see him the first time, he asked what percentage of movement and activity my shoulder was at compared to pre-injury. I said around 75% but with consistent pain, and then I made a face like "Yes, I know it's ridiculous that I'm coming to a doctor for something so minor." And then he said, "You're 25. You do not need to accept having a shoulder that functions at 75% for the rest of your life." That sentence was all I needed to know that he was fully an advocate for me and that his office was a place where I could advocate for myself for getting up to 100% too. At all points of my healing journey, Dr. Zimmer listened to me. He REALLY listened to me. I cannot express how refreshing it was to have this super smart doctor listen to my questions, to my pain levels, and to tell me it was okay to not be okay — and that we'd work on it together. My shoulder is now up to its pre-injury levels and I credit it to Dr. Zimmer. I cannot recommend him enough. Thank you Dr. Zimmer, for everything.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
