Very willing to explain all procedures to the patient and her husband. Also shared the results of different testing. All explanations are in down to earth English. Great bedside manner.
Dr. Kumar is just awesome!! At one point I was his youngest patient and I was 29. Today I still travel to see him in Lewes because yes he is that good. He takes time to talk to you and really let you talk and answer his questions. He is very thorough when explaining stuff to you about your condition. If your looking for a cardiologist this is your guy!!
My Mother was in the hospital and Dr. Kumar saw my mother along with another physician. Medicine was prescribed. After her follow-up with her primary care doctor I called to talk to Dr. Kumar per the suggestion of my mother’s primary care doctor because he is not a cardiologist. I called last Wednesday, August 19 and talked to a nurse. She said she would talk to Dr. Kumar and get back to me. No return phone call. I called again Thursday, August 20, and had to leave a message, no return phone call. Called again Friday, August 21, again had to leave another message, no return call. Now, it's Monday, August 24 and STILL NO RETURN PHONE CALL. This is very sad. I'm not calling to chit chat I want to make sure the medicine my Mother is on is still the right medicine, if the dosage needs to be changed or not given at all per the results of her follow-up with the primary care doctor. If you close during lunch to do whatever, your office has time to call people back when the recorder says the machine is checked several times a day. I don’t think I believe that.
I found Dr Kumar to be the best cardiologist around as far as I am concern. He always had time for his patients and is very thorough with his examines. He always answers my questions and explains so I understand. I now travel 1&1/2 hrs to his office but is well worth it to me.
The best doctor I have ever had. He is down to earth and always takes the time for his patients. If you have a question he always has an answer for you.
The staff at the office is pathetic. It took 7 phone calls over 12 days to get a prescription sent to my local pharmacy. I had a question after my first appointment that I tried 3 times to get an answer to and never received a returned call. When I showed up for a follow up appointment they claimed to have no record of an appointment for me even thought I had the appointment reminder card with me. If this is the staff he keeps, how can I trust the doctor's judgement?
He may be a great doctor. I will never know. His appointment-staff is a mess. The first time it took my doctors office over 20 minutes to schedule an appt with him. Had me going to Middletown at first. I live in N Wilmington. Then they said I needed 2 Appt on different days. I said ok. Then they called me and said I didn't need 2 appts and set me up with a new appts so the doctor would be there, then they called me today to confirm an appt. that they canceled. At this point I said forget it.
I have had quality care by Dr. Kumar. He is very knowledgeable and takes time to talk to you.
Dr. Kumar has been my cardiologist for 7 years. He placed my first stent in '06 and I've been seen by him bi-annually since. An exellent physician with an equally competant staff. I would strongly recommend Dr. Kumar.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
