List of First State Orthopaedics's Reviews
First of all, I hope you aren't actually in pain, because they won't be able to see you for at least 3 weeks. Then they will bombard you with messages and information, have you fill out paperwork online, which seems convenient. But in my case one of those messages said 3:45. My original appointment made over the phone was 3:25 so I thought maybe I misheard her or something. I have ADHD and mixed communication sometimes happens. I got stuck in traffic after taking the wrong way initially (I'm new to the area) and arrived around 3:50. Keep in mind that this is still only 25 minutes after my original appointment time even with the miscommunication. I was told they just "no showed" me and I would have to reschedule. I told them about the miscommunication and that I'd spent 3 weeks in pain waiting for this appointment. The pain in my knee (likely torn meniscus diagnosed by urgent care then ER) has been affecting every aspect of my life. I politely asked if there was anyway he could see me. I had a preliminary diagnosis and all I really needed was for him to take a quick look at it and refer me for the MRI he was going to need to make a final diagnosis. The woman behind the counter tried to call then begrudgingly went to check. She came back and said "Sorry he can't." I was getting pretty annoyed. She said, "Why don't we get you rescheduled." Then she looked and looked and looked again. I finally said to her "If you can't get me in this week, I'm going elsewhere." She told me it would be at least a week. I'm livid at this point. I tell her never mind I'll go somewhere else. As I start down the elevator I tell the woman next to me what happened and she says "Oh that's awful, I hope they don't charge you." So I headed back upstairs and I asked the receptionist, "You aren't going to charge me as a no show are you?" while standing in front of her. She babbles off something about it depending on my insurance and I reply "It has nothing to do with insurance. Are you charging me for a no show?" And she says "You weren't here at your scheduled time." I left went downstairs, then came back up and took a selfie in front of the logo to prove I had been there. I then immediately called my insurance company and filed a complaint to be certain I wouldn't be charged. I may file another for denial of service under the ADA. I have severe ADHD which can adversely affect my ability to process information and manage time. They were aware of this as I had already filled in my medical history forms. These people are the most uncaring excuses for medical professionals I've ever encountered. I get that it was the end of the day, but if you don't want to work that late, don't schedule appointments that late. They won't do that though because they want that money. Doctors used to schedule "sick visit" time slots so they could fit in people who needed to be seen. Unless they no longer do that either, there should've been a way to fit me in. I've been in pain for three weeks! If the doctor had a special event or some reason he couldn't stay, fine. You come out apologize and make an appointment time for the person who got shafted because you didn't want to miss billable hours. Really, it's the least you could do.
Dr. Orsini and Jennifer took great care of me. I left there having been treated well and well-informed.
Dr. Schulze did an amazing job fixing two other surgeries from a different establishment. The wait may long at times, but it is worth it if you want knowledgeable doctors that don’t rush you.
I started coming here for Dr Kane for shoulder issues. Seen on time every appointment friendly, informative and patient. Surgery scheduled, pre-op stuff explained and followed up. Very comfortable with the entire ordeal, will continue coming for my post op follow ups and any other orthopedic needs in the future!
Second time now scheduling appointment only to leave after waiting for over 45 min since scheduled time and being told its another hour. Get your scheduling right!
Long wait times but it is worth it. The doctors are great and explain procedures well.
I have been a patients here for the past 3 years. Never once have I been called less than 45 minutes after my appointment. Today 07/25/22 my appointment was at 10:50 and it’s now noon. First State Ortho has no regard for their patients and I look forward to maybe better health care as for care centers begin to open. I see doctor Schulze and now doctor Sutherland. There are few to no options around this area and they take total advantage of their patients due to this.
I give a minuet to their PA and doctors for over booking. I have been coming here for 3 years for Dr Schulze and now Doctor Sutherland. Never have I been seen prior to an hour after my appointments. With limited specialist in the area there is not much choice for pain management. The schedulers are just horrible with no common sense when booking patience's.
4 stars for Dr Kane.. 1 star for Stephanie L at check in. Literally asked questions back to back without letting me answer .. very rude and unnecessary. And compromising to the practice .. you are asking me Covid questions without letting me answer you .. that's not safe! What's the purpose of asking if you're not looking for an answer? Seriously bad attitude Stephanie. Thank God everyone else after her was a pleasure to work with.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
