Jeffrey J. Heckert's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Heckert is primarily an Administrator of Mid Atlantic Family Practice. The facility and the admission staff are of the highest class, as are each of the Physician Assistants and other medical staff. My experience with Dr. Heckert, over thirty years, I see him once a year, he reviews my blood work, and responds to any questions I might have. When I go for a medical issue, I see only a PA, they are excellent. Dr. Heckert has now decided to enter into the MDVIP program wherein, if you wish to continue under his care, you will now be charged $1800.00 per year for his service. So - if you don't want to pay, you are dropped from his medical expertise.

If I could leave less than 1 star I would. Run, do not walk away from this doctor’s practice. Zero patient advocacy, refused to take the time to listen to patient’s family about an alarming amount of symptoms and negligently missed a diagnoses of metastatic cancer that was found one week later in a Philadelphia Hospital. Heckert’s lack of attentive patient care, complete disregard for returning urgent phone calls from family members and an overall deficiency in the working knowledge of the body’s mechanisms almost cost the life of a man who was rapidly declining. Heckert’s lack of interest, urgency or overall execution of due diligence in patient advocacy will cost the lives of patients in his care. Beebe Healthcare should be alarmed at the way this doctor in their medical network treats patients and their families. Heckert jeopardizes lives.

He is the best GP I have ever had. Has the ability to tell me what is a problem and and what is not. If a problem he offers advice and will kick it up to a specialist if necessary. You will not be disappointed.

We have felt since first switching to Dr. Heckert's practice when we retired here six years ago that we get excellent care. He and the staff are efficient and effective.

Dr. Heckert listens to me. He explains patiently. He does not rush me through the visit.

Dr. Heckert spends very little time after waiting forever to get an appointment and is very dismissive of questions that I had regarding medications that he prescribed and my test results. I've never had a worst doctor and the nurse was very rough and impatient. There are plenty of better practices than Mid-Atlantic in the area and anyone who recommends Dr. Heckert and Mid-Atlantic Family practice must not know what to look for in a health care provider because this is a low quality facility.

I have been extremely happy with Dr Heckert and MidAtlantic Family Practice. The office is friendly, helpful and courteous, great communication. The practitioners who I have seen have all been very thorough and attentive. Impressed how the staff looks at improving access and care, such as instituting walk ins M-Sat. Great practice.

Heckert does not seem to care or know what his job is. He seems to be owned by the pharmaceutical companies and will push whatever medication on you that will line his own pockets. I will not use the title doctor when referring to him because doing so would be a disgrace to those who have earned the title. My records are inaccurate, he and his staff have not listened to my concerns and he is officially fired from practicing medicine on me.

Dr. Heckert was very condescending, several times when inquiring about treatment or asking questions. Received a no show fees after cancelling an appointment and my health records are incorrect, which shows that they are not following through on documentation and when questioned about it, their best excuse was that mistakes happen. Mistakes DO happen and when they happen in doctors offices they can cause great harm to many patients. Choose wisely. Don't settle on Mid-Atlantic Family Practice.

If you like a doctor with a god-complex, you'll love Dr. Heckert. Otherwise, would advise to steer clear. Spends very little time, gets defensive when questioned, refuses to give patients their right to autonomy and has incorrect documentation in my medical records all of which can cause great harm to patients. He has made it very clear that he does not care about me and I would suspect that his relationship with most patients is no different. We as patients have a choice and deserve better than Dr. Heckert and Mid-Atlantic Family Practice. Our lives depend on it.
