I don't even no where to begin this doctor is AMAZING I went to Bridgeport hospital ER (2020) for stomach pain did all necessary ct scans needed an appendectomy and let me know I had a cyst on head of pancreas went to post op visit he listened to my concerns ordered an MRI w/contrast and come to find out I had pancreatic cancer he was fast efficient and did what I asked as a doctor he was very organized in my treatment plan and where to send me I started treatment 18 days from diagnosis he has guided me on my journey and happy to say I am a pancreatic cancer stage III survivor Again many thanks Dr Tyson you are the BEST
I was visiting in Connecticut from New York when I developed sudden severe abdominal pain. Went to the ER at Bridgeport Hospital where I was diagnosed with a small bowel obstruction. I wanted to travel home to take care of it but they told me it was not safe to do so. I was quite upset at the idea of being away from home and not knowing the doctors, especially since they told me surgery was a possibility. I did end up having surgery by Dr. Tyson and I couldn’t be more pleased with his kindness, understanding, and finally the results of my surgery, which he was able to do laparoscopic. I was home two days after surgery.
Bedside manor and respect to the patient as well as the patient's family are extremely alarming. A patient needs to be treated with respect. The fact that a patient is in the hospital creates a vulnerability in itself. For Dr. Tyson to come charging into a room and using an intimidating voice is not acceptable.
I have had nerve damage for more than a year now due to the surgery he did. It is becoming painful and I ask him about this during one of my follow-up appointments and he denied he done anything wrong.
Dr Tyson was very professional and seemed to be genuinely concerned about my health. He did not rush our appointment time together and listened well.
I would not recommend anyone to Dr. Tyson. Very unprofessional, and ask too many personal questions! How long I have been married has nothing to do with my health! He appeared to be a religious zealot! My husband and I drove from Destin Florida to see him and we left there totally in shock!! He was more interested in telling you how to live your life rather then being interested in medicine! He was VERY dis respectful of how he handled our visit!!!
I am in the hospital after having a colonoscopy with this guy last week and have been bleeding since. When I called his office, panicked, his staff told me to come in the next day at 4pm. It was an emergency room visit which turned into being admitted last night. I'm sure I would have died of blood loss had I waited for that appointment the next day.
In 2010 Dr Tyson and his team removed my appendix. It was an emergency surgery and I was well over 40 years old. I was petrified and once Dr Tyson walked in the room and talked with me his demeanor, his kindness, his bedside manner and the peacefulness he brought into the room with him brought and instant calm and peacefulness to me. He and his team did a terrific job and I cannot say enough wonderful things about him! If ever knowingly needing surgery I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Tyson as your surgeon. Praise God for allowing Dr Tyson to be the one to perform my surgery! Thank you Dr Tyson!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
