Christopher Conti's Online Review Report Card

Basil Cell carcinoma removed from right cheek on first pass, then after some wait an 'in-place' skin graft was performed and I was discharged after appropriate instructions on hygiene care of same. I had been to Dr. Conti before and was at ease with the present appointment and so far am pleased with the result. Yes I would recommend him to others.

Always get it the first time

I am only giving 1 star b/c I cannot select 0. I had have had Melanoma twice in my life, most recent only 4 years ago. As a survivor, I know all of the signs to watch for - especially in areas most don't realize, like our nail bed. I have had a thin black line come up in last 2 weeks, of which thin black or blue line is a sign of melanoma in the nail. This form is extremely aggressive and with me not remember if I hit to cause a bruise AND my history, this needs to be checked out. Dr Conti's PA agreed it should be biopsied but he chose to arrogantly dismiss me. In fact, he mocked my knowledge after correcting him when he stated that a thin black line is not a sign of melanoma, therefore I have nothing to worry about. Upon indicating to him that if he is wrong, I could be dead a few months - he responded with 'well if it is melanoma, you are right - but isn't, so you are good'. I was obviously angry with this, let him know if he is wrong I will be filing suit and his response to this was 'ok-whatever'. This is a dr that will kill someone one day if they choose to trust him fully, in my opinion he is not fit to be practicing dermatology. A good dr would have been honest and said something to the effect of 'It doesn't look worrisome to me, however this is a bit out of my expertise and you should follow up with a specialist' OR since I was there for a biopsy - maybe just do it and try to make the patient feel like they are an idiot - bc I assure you I am not, and I have studied melanoma more than I care to have wanted to since my diagnosis'. DO NOT GO HERE

Professional, patient and very thorough!

Work performed professionally and finished great. It has been a little over 2 weeks, stitches have been removed and all on the face is heading back to normal!! Thanks for your help, Al

Dr Conti gave me a surprise 3 inch "scar". He sliced and whip stitched an incision that popped wide open days later Turned out he removed a simple freckle. We had agreed before he started, the cut was to be only 1/2" long. He stated he had to "cut big to make big money".

I went to Dr. Conti for a lesion on my skin, when I met him, he seemed very rushed, he looked at my skin and said you need a biopsy, he took the biopsy and and told me he thought it looked like a basal cell cancer but couldn’t be sure until the biopsy came back, while in his office, I had a lot of questions, that he answered but did not seem knowledgeable and gave very quick answers that was not very informative. I never felt so rushed and he seemed bothered that I had questions. I ended up going to another dermatologist and will definitely not go back to him. After reading other reviews it seems I’m not alone of my opinion of him.

I am writing this on behalf of my fiancée Tina Atwell who thought Dr Conti was very professional and very attentive to her comfort. The assistants helping were, she said, incredible. Tina felt that given the seriousness of the operation she could not have been in better hands.

I went to Dr Conti for MOHS surgery on my nose. I was scheduled to have the MOHS surgery on a Monday. However, Dr. Conti had to reschedule to the following Thursday. I arrived on Thursday at the appointed time, and found a packed waiting room. I was not called in to the room for the MOHs surgery until 45 minutes after my appointment time. The nurse gave me a shot in my nose to numb it. During the MOHs surgery, the nurse commented to Dr. Conti that they had 14 people to perform MOHs surgery that day. Dr. Conti responded that they were going to be working later than normal. After the first incision, I was sent to the waiting room to await the results from the lab. Two hours later I was called in and told that they did not get all the cancer. So the nurse proceeded to give me another numbing shot on my nose. I have not experienced this amount of pain. It was excruciating. I believe because of the the increased patient load for the day due to the rescheduling, that they were running behind. Because of the increased patient load, the first numbing shot effects waned during the 2 hours I was waiting. I know this is true as unfortunately, I had to go back in for a third time as they still had not gotten all the cancer. This time I only waited 45 minutes for the lab results. So, when the nurse gave the third numbing shot in my nose, the previous numbing shot was still in effect, so there was no pain. The next day I had reconstructive surgery on my nose. Dr. Paul Sabini was great, and his staff were terrific. I had NO pain, and Dr. Sabini’s Office called me to see how I was doing and I answered questions for their survey. I find it interesting that no one from Dr. Conti’s office called me for a survey, as I would have told them my displeasure. Long story short, Dr. Conti is a fine doctor, but do not have MOHs surgery on a day that they have double booked their patients.

I was not pleased with his bedside manner at all. I felt like Dr Conti was not thorough at all and I felt like I was inconveniencing him and wasting his time while he casually mentions cutting off parts of my body. This is a big deal to patients. It should not be something someone strolls in and mentions like “hey you left your headlights on” and move on with your day. These are people’s bodies being cut and sewn and scarred and it matters to them.
