Don't walk......RUN away from this place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
These people are LAZY and put fourth minimal effort especially when someone is in crisis.
I like the therapists, but the reception desk ignores my voicemails and calls. I shouldn't have to struggle so much just to get a receipt for the services I received.
Impossible to get ahold of anyone. I’ve left messages and nothing. I filled out their patient portal paperwork and they sent me the forms again a month later? The link they sent me expired before the 72 hours and no one has called me to set up a consultation. It would be different if they did not have capacity to accept new patients but this is embarrassing and unprofessional. At the very least call me back so I’m not wasting my time waiting to hear back. This process has been since January and it’s now March.
Well they say if you can’t say anything nice to not say anything at all. So there’s my review....crickets.
I went to the Newark office years ago when I was a minor. The service itself was alright, not the best therapy I’ve had but I went for a few months. My copays were paid every appointment. However, years later (now) I start getting billed $60, $30 out of nowhere under my maiden name for things like “brief emotional assessment” and the date says July 2020. Again, I have not been to this office in YEARS. I ended up speaking to the billing agency listed on the bill and they told me to disregard the charges. I don’t know why they would bill me for 2 months ago when I haven’t seen them in years, but that left an incredibly bad taste in my mouth. The therapy itself from when I did go, I would say 2/5 or 3/5 in terms of my review. However, because of what happened now, if I could give 0 stars, I absolutely would.
Will change rating if my problems are handled. I have been going here for over two years and had no problems until my doctor left and they switched me with a new doctor. The new doctor said because he couldn't find my adhd testing paperwork I would need to retake the testing to continue to receive my adhd medication that I have been taking for 8 years which would cost over 400$ to do. I am on disability and I am a student so having an extra 400$ to spare is extremely hard for me. My adhd medicine literally helps me out the most next to my mood stabilizers for manic depression. I have been on the Dean's list every semester since I started school at WilmU and am now a junior. Because of this change in medication and the stress that this had caused I have had to medically withdraw this semester. This has triggered numerous manic episodes and I have went through withdrawals from the medication since I was ubruptly taken off of this controlled substance. On top of all of this, charges appeared from 2017 that should have been covered by medicaid which I use to have at the time. I found out that Mid-Atlantic was suppose to work with them on the pricing but never did so I got stuck owing a few extra hundred dollars for services that were covered every other time. Because of this I was told I could not be seen until the balance was taken care of and like I said before being on a fixed income as well as being a student money is rather scarce so I have not been able to take care of the payments as of yet so I have not had my medication for almost two months now and my life is falling apart because of it. Everything was going good in my life I just don't understand why they can't see when their actions are ruining someone's life. Like a behavioral health facility is suppose to help your mental health not completely wreck it. I have left numerous voicemails for the past two months stating my concerns and have yet to receive a call back. I am ready to move on from here. It's just sad because when Cynthia was there I loved it and now I can't say one good thing about them.
I've been going to Mid-Atlantic for a few years now. Over this time I've had nothing but issues with their billing. I pay for my appointments up front and every few months they decide I owe them more money. Typically I speak to billing they look into it and remove the balance, because they can see I've paid every time.I'm not sure if Mid-Atlantic is having financial difficulties or what the case is. All I know is that they've decided to increase my bill (without informing me) and are now claiming I owe for appointments that I've already paid for.Instead of having a conversation about it Nichole was quite rude informing me she knew for a fact that I didn't pay for multiple appointments. After speaking to a supervisor and them doing further research it turns out it was an insurance issue from over a year ago, and not because I didn't pay for any appointments. Its a shame, but this company does not treat their clients with respect, and I've dealt with it for far too long. If you are looking for a practice that will treat you like a human instead of accusing you of lying (without evidence) look somewhere else.
A safe and secure atmosphere they create for you as you schedule appointments and visit their staff
I saw a psychiatrist remotely through their office and he wasn’t nice to me my last appointment. He was not helpful at all. The whole appointment lasted like at the most 10 minutes? And I kind of wanted some input or like... insight or recommendations on medications that could possibly be helpful because I’ve been feeling way more anxious lately which isn’t normal. (I’ve been diagnosed with clinical anxiety & have greatly improved these past years on medication but I started to feel off again.) He proceeded to tell me that “everyone feels anxious” insinuating how I’ve been feeling was normal? And I mentioned how I got off one medication because it caused me to gain a lot of weight and he basically said that the reason I gained all the weight wasn’t because of the medication.. WHEN THAT LITERALLY IS ONE OF THE SIDE EFFECTS. After that he just prescribed me that medication again than hung up. I kind of expected him to do his actual job and maybe suggest another medication but ya know I guess that was too much to ask. I canceled all of my appointments with him directly after that and I will not be going to them again. The receptionists were pretty nice when I went in. But my last appointment pushed me over the edge and I won’t be going to him anymore. I don’t need someone to invalidate how I feel and make me second guess myself. Maybe try and listen to your patients before invalidating them and making them feel bad about themselves.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
