I went 3 times to Simon eye and they did not relieve my severe eye issue! Dr. Kalin resolved it immediately, experience matters!! I highly recommend Dr. Kalin.
Best decision I ever made was to have Dr Kalin replace my cataracts. Great surgeon, caring individual, Dr Kalin and his very professional staff made the entire experience as easy as possible. He took the time to fully explain the process each step of the way and helped me make the right decision on corrective lenses. I now see better than ever. If you need eye care, Dr Kalin is the Ophthamologist to see.
Called 8am on a Monday and after hearing my symptoms (floaters and a red dot in right eye), I had a 10am appointment. I got there and filled out history, meds, insurance, etc. I was called about 10 minutes after I finished at front desk (~10:20) and then run through a number of things; eye test, pressure test, eye correction (I was given RX although I do not wear glasses except readers which I buy off the shelf), pictures of both eyes were taken, I watched a video explaining floaters, had my pupils dilated and then the exam. Everything was in a different room and often a different member of staff. Diagnosis was vitreous hemorrhage. I was referred to Dr Wang. Kalin staff set up the appointment (Thursday). It was 11:54am when I left and while each step had a wait, none were lengthy. All in all I thought it was well run and professional. Only negative is now I need to see another Ophthalmologist...
Receptionist wasn't the most friendly or pleasant, but she was alright- I've see worse. My appointment was scheduled at 11:15am, i reached at about 11:13am but got in at around 11:25am.The nurse who did my initial check up was very friendly and pleasant. The doctor was very friendly and answered all my questions and concerns. I did end up spending a few more bucks than my copay, but the doctor had informed me of the costs before he conducted the tests and I did it willingly.Dr. Kalin is also very approachable, he did call back when I tried to reach him after my visit over phone and answered my question.Recommend this Doctor definitely.
Dr. Kalin has been my checking my eyes for several years. In Feb 2016 had eye surgery, cataracts/lens, done in both eyes. It went very well, even though I can not lay flat on my back. Dr. Kalin answered all my questions before and after the surgery. I can see better - clearer. All the people working with him talk to you not at you. I recommend him to everyone. Thanks Diane
I recently went to Dr. Kalin for eye surgery. I am very happy with the results. I can see again better than ever. I would recommend him to anyone. Thanks for the great results. Jane
Wonderful experience with warm, friendly staff!
Whatever happened to courtesy? The only people that were pleasant were the actual eye doctors and the other patients! The technicians were rude and acted as though they had better things to do than their jobs and didn't explain a thing about what they were doing. This wouldn't have been a problem except I paid $75 for a contact lens exam that I didn't need nor request, and since the technician spent a whopping 5 minutes on my exam the prescription was wrong. During the entire visit, aside from seeing the actual eye doctor, I felt as though I was a nuisance to the technicians and that needing my eyes checked was a huge bother to them. Maybe they're of the opinion that I ought to be ecstatic to be seen by them at the business, but my feelings are far from that.My favorite part about the visit was when the technician asked another technician to "come into her office." This meant they sat around the corner in the hallway and discussed me and how I didn't know answers to questions they asked (you know that feeling when you don't sleep at night and you go into work anyways and are so completely exhausted after work you can barely tell someone your own name? That's the mental state I was in during some questions, despite trying to remember whatever I could to help with the questioning). It was SO great to hear them disrespect me like that. They must have forgotten that I have vision problems, not hearing problems and so they just kept "whispering" about me. No really it's cool, take your time discussing me it's not like I had to leave work early to come to the appointment.Overall, if you can get away with not seeing the technicians at all go to this eye doctor. However, the chances of just seeing an eye doctor these days are slim, so avoid the b****** in scrubs here and take your business elsewhere. Sorry Dr. Kalin, it's not you, it's your horrendous staff.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
