Jeffrey E. Hawtof's Online Review Report Card

I there were a "zero" stars option, that's what I would give. Prematurely misdiagnosed me, yet never having met me, knows absolutely nothing about Long COVID, and insists that Long COVID patients need to seek psychiatric treatment for "anxiety disorder." Apparently he's either an incompetent who never heard of post-viral illness or is a quack who doesn't believe it exists. The level of ego and smugness it must take to make this kind of diagnosis without ever having spoken to the patient in question and never having requested diagnostic testing or previous test results is a serious red flag in the profession.

My doctor of twenty years retired and it took me numerous months to find a new primary whose office was relatively close because I am eighty years old. Dr. Hawtof is excellent. He has been very thorough, precise, patient, organized and reviewed my file with me for any changes for each of the two visits since I started with him. For questions I have asked, answers have been explained completely.

I met Dr. Hawtof for the first time a couple of weeks ago and he was the most thorough PCP I have seen in years. He went through my medical history, medications and allergies in great detail, stopping to explain and comment, as appropriate, along the way. Perhaps, most importantly, he listened and paid attention to what I had to say. I would highly recommend him.

Great doctor.....lousy office help

He's a fine doctor if you can get past his front office staff. They don't want new Medicare/Medicaid patients because of the low compensation rate. Be sure to bring all of your ID cards to every single visit no matter how many years you've been a patient. When you have an appointment, be sure to bring your appointment card so you can prove to them that you have one and that you are indeed on time. Ultimately, not worth the huge hassle.

Generally helpful, considerate and efficient. Despite comments to contrary, will listen and modify treatment; but is firm when he feels necessary. He can be verbose, but that is better than no communication at all.

He is the worst doctor I have ever been to. He is so full of himself and completely rude. He is uncaring and smug. He acts as a "know it all". I would not recommend to anyone!
