Dr. Fried did my breast cancer surgeries (lumpectomies) and was incredible. He's upbeat, answers questions, and treated me like an intelligent adult. And he cured me of the cancer.

Had open inguinal hernia surgery by Dr. Fried 2 years ago. Developed seroma after surgery. Called office several times to advise, calls were ignored until I wound up in ER because incision burst open. 1st follow up Fried said nothing can be done, use heat. 2nd follow up he unsuccessfully tried to remove seroma with needle, very painful, after telling me in 1st follow up that wouldn’t work?? Eventually went to another Dr. who removed seroma. Still problems 2 years later, most likely a lifetime condition from what is a simple, routine surgery. Dr. Robert Fried is a substandard Dr. in my opinion.

2 years after open inguinal hernia surgery performed by Dr. Fried I have decided the discomfort I still feel will be permanently a lifetime problem from a fairly simple, routine surgery. My initial calls after surgery were ignored by him & his staff till I had to visit the ER within 2 weeks after surgery because a seroma caused the incision to burst open. The staff in ER asked who the surgeon was, when I said Dr. Fried they said they were not surprised. He has NO CONCERN for his patients!!!! Avoid this Dr. at all costs. What happened to me should not happen to anyone else. He’s a disgrace to Main Line Health and to Paoli Hospital.

Had inguinal surgery done by Fried. 3 weeks later Fried wouldn’t/couldn't remove large pocket of dried blood. Had to go to a different Dr. have removed. Months later I found Fried caused nerve damage that MAY OR MAY NOT go away. Meantime I’m unable to resume my normal lifestyle. Don’t allow Fried to perform surgery on you!!!!

After surgery of removal of an infected stitch in my tummy, Dr. Fried did not send me home with an antibiotic. As a result, I developed an Abcess and a Staph infection, and 5 days later I was admitted to Paoli Hospital. When he was questioned about this by my family, he became very argumentative and judgemental. I was in excruciating pain and he accused me of requesting too many pain meds after he caused me the pain by not prescribing an antibiotic when an infection was clearly noted. BEWARE!

Dr. Fried has helped me out majorly on two separate occasions. He is a great listener and you can tell he actually cares. I would recommend him to anyone and am very grateful to have had him as doctor. His staff is also wonderful to work with.

Dr. Fried and his staff were amazing. I was diagnosed with a Hernia and had surgery the following day. Everyone at the surgical center was friendly and professional.
