List of Christianacare Wilmington Hospital's Reviews
This place is by far the worst hospital in the tri-state. Triage is a joke. If this place wasn't located in a high crime neighborhood, they would've gone out of business two seconds after their grand opening!!
Starting on February 13th 2024 calls to find out updates of WHY my husband was in the emergency room at all PERIOD because we did not send him to the emergency room. We sent him to the Helen Graham center for his infusion treatment. However, they transfer him to the emergency department in emergency department. Nurses were very rude. Hung up on me. Had to call back several times they asked Didn't you call before and I said? Yes , February 14th went to visit my husband in the hospital, which I thought he was still at Christiana care which they had moved him to Wilmington hospital. Me as his wife unaware of his transfer. Okay , once I was at the wilmington hospital , Myself and my husband was attempting to have a conversation and we were shutting the door and the nurse pushed the door open. And I was like hold on, just give us a second. She says no, she has to go. She has to finish making his bid so cause she has somewhere else to be okay. So my husband says this is my wife. She says Hey wife Then she proceeds to go out in the hallway to discuss the matter. With her colleagues in a gossiping , we could hear. JUST SICK OF RUDE DISRESPECTFUL PEOPLE THAT ARE IN CARE OF HELPING PEOPLE. NOT THE FIRST TIME THE OTHER TIMES SMILES AND CHALKED IT TO THEM STRESSED OUT.
This review is on behalf of Ashley sentel. She just got discharged from your hospital today she was in there for about a month and I have to say the 5th floor and the 6th floor personnel are fabulous I have no negatives it's was a wonderful experience everybody was caring and respectful and I especially want to give a shout out to Doctor McCarthy who tended to my daughter's wounds. I'm very impressed with this hospital. thank you very much. Alan Sentel
I was here for surgery. From the moment I walked in until I left, everyone was wonderful. The pre-op, the post-op, and on floor 7- everyone was great (Pape, Dana, Sam, Brooklyn and RuthAnn).
1st couple days were absolutely wonderful. I thought I had died and went to heaven. When I got moved down to the 5th floor...PURE LIVING HELL!!! Nobody anywhere around. Nurses always said I'll be right back. They came back alright..th2 next shift did
Disgusting patient and family response and care. Waiting 8 hours with no update and nurse response is we have people dying here...well it is a hospital so understood. However I walk-in and a free standing oxygen tank not properly secured falls to floor as door opens- lets say that is a violation. Vomit dried all over my loved ones face and still food in mouth, in which I asked for tools and cleaned myself- aspiration risk. Nurse flips nasal for oxygen over saying it looks uncomfortable but it sends them into a nose dive to 73 OXYGEN DESAT and respiratory team comes flying in asking who did that shaking there head. And after waiting 8 hours I had more answers from portal then nurse would inform. At 8 hours I clearly ask again for an attending and am asked to calm down that people are dying...well christiana hospital this is UNACCEPTABLE. Disgusting patient and family care in the ER today. Bad practices and no oversight.
Had a terrible experience at the emergency room this week. My 94-year old mother scraped her leg severely in the middle of the night. We arrived at 4:30 am, bleeding profusely. After 4 hours, we were finally seen - she had a 3"x3" square of skin that had been completely peeled back. The ER doctors who saw her and the nurses who bandaged her leg did NOT use non-stick bandages! In fact, when we asked about using them, they said they didn't know there was such a thing. Considering you can get them at any drug store, we were quite surprised by this. She was advised to go to her dermatologist this next day to have the bandage changed. When we went to her dermatologist the next morning, the bandages had completely stuck to the wound. They soaked it trying to loosen it up but in removing the bandage done by the hospital, they ended up taking even more skin off of the wound! I do NOT recommend going to this hospital - their emergency personnel are sub-par and uncaring.
Brought my husband there in the middle of the night last night due to extreme pain with vomiting in his kidney area. They brought him right back and got him seen within minutes. Diagnosed pretty quickly but we were so impressed with the staff and their care. They were just amazing and made a stressful situation so much better.
My mother had a surgery appointment for her eyes at 11:15, 3 hours pass and we are still waiting for them to receive it, they have a terrible system as it is possible that a surgery is scheduled and they make her wait more than 3 hours
The call center was ghetto. Operator got smart and hung up in my ear. My mom was on 3North and her foreign nurse would just walk in the room and flick the lights on at night. Left poop in her bedside commode. She had to ask continuously for her pain medications. Poor to no communication. Emotionless and non- empathetic. Face of the building is new and looks modern but the interior is old.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
