List of Craig D. Morgan's Reviews
Had a torn bicep tendon and rotator cuff and the University recommended I have Dr. Morgan perform my surgery instead of the surgeon associated with the University since he was a shoulder specialist. Left before I woke up from surgery and walked right past my parents. Went in for my post op appointment letting him know I was still in pain. He spent about 2 minutes with me, lifted my arm while I winced in pain and said "you're healed" and left. Never even wrote me a script for PT and I was never able to play volleyball again. It seemed like if you were not a professional athlete, he did not care about the outcome of your surgery.
Dr. Morgan did a complete shoulder replacement on me, I had an excellent surgery and recovery. He is a man of very few words although he treated me with respect and took care of my Shoulder
The doctor has terrible bedside manner. Each visit was about 3 minutes of his time. No explanation just see nurse to schedule surgery. Came in room didn’t even remember what arm he did surgery on. I had to tell him. Never spoke to me or my husband after surgery to say how it went. 7 months later cannot lift my arm again without pain. Not going back!
I saw him for each of 3 visits , initial , post mri, and a week after surgery. Total time about 3 minutes. 2 were to remove stitches. Did not explain what was wrong pre op or post op. That absolute worst. His office is wallpapers with his articles and superstar surgeries. What hubris. I has to call an world class Dr. to ask what my MRI meant. I wouldn't let Morgan operate on a cadever.
Worst bedside manner ever. He doesn’t care about your pain. Just spends less than 60 seconds with you. Terrible doctor. Needs to retire.
Dr Morgan is a fantastic surgeon. My son had labrum surgery which repaired the labrum but he continued to have problems. The surgeon then did not have any reasons why he continued to have problems, he suggested a cortisone shot. Not a good solution its a Band-Aid. Losing hope he would ever throw as he was pre-injury we visited Dr Morgan and Dr M diagnosed him him in less than 1 minute. No exaggeration. He suggested a surgery to correct the problem, his biceps tendon was moving around too much causing too much laxity in the shoulder. He continued to have a problem and Dr M said his problem was scar tissue as a result of the labrum surgery and recommended a procedure to remove the scar tissue. I am elated to report that he's throwing "like nothing ever happened". Dr M is a gem and should be a household name! .
Doc Morgan is man of few words but immediately knew how to diagnose and treat my shoulder. Very friendly staff. Highly recommended
I had suffered for years with limited use of left shoulder. Pain so severe that caused sleeplessness. 2 orthopedic surgeons had recommended shoulder replacement, which seemed premature based solely on my symptoms. Meanwhile an article about a philanthropic woman appeared in our local Greenville glossy. Her husband was described as an innovative, surgeon who preferred non invasive solutions to orthopedic issues. I made an appointment to see him and yes, was surprised at his brusque manner, however, impressed that he was the first to order an MRI of my shoulder. He said that I had a “ bone spur” which had created a tear of the rotator cuff. He said he could fix the problem by removing the spur and repairing the tear with HIS tools, which HE had invented. I agreed to the surgery, however, within a very short time, pain returned. This time he said due to scar tissue. Another operation was performed “ to remove the adhesions” with no relief of pain. I sought help from a Rothman orthopedic surgeon who said that the joint was full of spurs and arthritis, which makes sense since I have arthritis of other joints. The most troubling feature though is that this man revealed that both previous surgeries were unnecessary and even inappropriate for my condition plus there was no evidence in the MRI that the tear of rotator cuff had been repaired! This is troubling, that I was fed a bunch of lies plus having 2 unnecessary surgeries involving anesthesia and painful rehab for nothing. I would call this malpractice. I have since had shoulder replacement, which I had hoped to avoid but was the correct solution. Beware of this unscrupulous charlatan, people. Don’t be mislead by the kudos and pics from celebrities.
Run don’t walk away from this doctor. He literally spends 5 seconds with you and is answering your questions as he is walking out the door. And then charges you for a 25 minute visit which is a joke. He is absolutely the rudest doctor I ever met and has zero personality. Even after surgery he never comes back to visit you so you never know if the surgery went well or not. I have not had a good surgical experience (right knee, torn meniscus) with him and now am being treated by another doctors. Let him go to his high priced athletes because he doesn’t care at all about his average patient. Time to retire Dr Morgan!!
Dr. Morgan spent less than two minutes examining my mother postoperatively. She was experiencing a lot of pain, and instead of listening to her concerns, he walked in with a diagnosis, shot her with steroids, and sent her on her way. He is extremely unprofessional, showed no compassion, and I would say it is time for him to retire. He has zero bedside manner, and I would never recommend him to anyone. There are many great orthopedic surgeons in this area, I don’t know how this man is still in practice. The staff on the other hand were very nice and helpful.
