List of Lorna H. Simmerman's Reviews
I think Dr Simmerman does a great job with me. I highly recommend Dr Simmerman. At one time Delaware Eye Surgeons had an optician there who was not very professional or courteous. That has changed. There is a new optician who is both courteous and professional. I highly recommend Delaware Eye Surgeons.
Dr. Simmerman is simply the best eye doctor I have ever met. The entire Delaware Eye Surgeons, P.A. Practice is caring and efficient, but Dr. Simmerman truly stands out. She is that person who makes you feel comfortable and secure, you get the “I’m here for you” attitude. My vision is very important to me and I would not consider going anywhere else. Knowledgeable, informative, and kind.
Dr Simmerman is wonderful, very professional! I read the other review about the woman at the eyeglass counter and am wondering if it was a different person. My asst was professional and super friendly.
Always professional and cordial. Got her name from a friend of mine when I moved here and have chosen to stay the last 5 years.
Dr. Simmerman was actually very nice and professional. However, once I finished my eye exam and was ready to order my lenses and frames the woman who works in the lens wear department was so unprofessional she should NOT be working in any position that deals with interaction between customers. There was one other older gentleman in his late 70's sitting quietly and me to be waited on. When I was next I asked what my options were with my insurance...the lady working was all stressed out picking up and throwing down pens, refusing to look at me or the other gentleman who was also looking at her like what gives. She snatches my paperwork out of my hand and slaps it down on the counter and still not making any eye contact keeps pacing back and forth looking everywhere but at me or where she was pointing. She blurted out some quick answer to my question with her back to me and I asked again same question "can I pay extra to get frames other than the ones on the rack" than she just motioned at me....like over there you're bothering me asking a question. Then she again picks up a pen for no reason and throws it down and says" it's just Me here"!! I looked at her, bewildered as I was being pleasant, and asked her " are you alright?!!". She sighed extremely loud and just looked at me. I had enough, no more being nice ignoring this woman's extreme hatred towards me and my question, no more ignoring the crazy lady anymore. I just said " forget it!!, We are done here" I reached down in front of her and grabbed my papers from insurance company and walked out. She actually seemed surprised when I said were were done here. Amazing!! Like she was Soo busy with me wanting to spend $500-$700 on Prescription glasses and prescription sunglasses and how dare I ask a question...just go to that rack and pick something out, don't ask questions. You represent your place of employment. A business is represented by their employees and how those employees behave is how the business is judged and rated. This nut job woman was obviously bothered to have to do her job and was not acting like a normal human being but rather someone who had mental issues and someone who is ready to have a breakdown any minute!! No joke either. This was a 60 year old woman, I'm 42 and relaxed, and the next person waiting and seated was mid 70's. This woman was completely unprofessional and has no business being employed at an eye doctor's office where she has to interact with people. My experience was pleasant all the way until I had to deal with this woman. No wonder the younger girls doing the check-out/payment and scheduling were trying to not have me get glasses there in a very subtle way. I didn't get the hints until after I walked out on the crazy eye wear lady in frame department. I have spoken to 2 other people since my encounter 3 days ago who also went to this place and both dealt with this crazy woman and each person felt the woman was having a breakdown when they went there. The other woman I spoke to who went there said she asked about the crazy eye wear woman after experiencing similarly to my ordeal and was told basically she knows one of the higher ups and they just deal with her behavior. Well, your business is loosing customers, like myself, and loosing money left and right. I don't expect butt kissing from a business but I do expect professional behavior and for employees to act accordingly. I wish I could give no stars for this review but can't. That is how bad this woman was. Unbelievable!!!!!
This was my 1st time with Dr. Simmerman. She listened to my issues and explained what was going on. She was very pleasant and easy to talk to and I didn't feel rushed. I actually told my 2 daughters about Dr. Simmerman, because they are not comfortable with the Doctor they are seeing now. I know that they will like her!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
