GET A SECOND OPINION!!!! This was by far my worse gyno experience ever. I visited Dr.Tapia's office a couple years ago and it was determined that I had uterine fibroids. Dr.Tapia told me that my only treatment option was a hysterectomy within the next two months. I then mentioned that I didn't have children and Dr. Tapia's response was sorry to tell you but that dream is over. He said that I needed to get the hysterectomy ASAP because the huge fibroids could become cancerous. One was the size of a baseball and the other the size of a golf ball. I asked why they couldn't be removed and he said they were too big and the scar tissue would cause my uterus to burst if I did become pregnant. There was so much to take in... I was filled with emotion but I kept my composure and continued to ask questions. The method of removal was to be a surgery which required Dr. Tapia to cut my stomach open. Being in the urology field at the time, I knew there were more advanced surgical methods. Before I left, I was given a prescription for a two month supply of meds for endometriosis, which I was never diagnosed with. I drove home devasted and in tears. The pills made me bleed all month. I called and asked to be prescribed a different pill, such as regular birth control to regulate my menstrual cycle. The receptionist placed me on hold then came back and said Dr. Tapia said no, you just need to come in and get the hysterectomy immediately. I was furious, how could they talk about removing my uterus like it was a simple decision like a tooth extraction? I talked to family and friends that advised that I needed to get a second opininion. Paralyzed by fear, I held of for over a year. I finally went to another gyno and explained my last diagnosis. She needed to order an ultrasound before discussing treatment options. It turns out that the largest fibroid is the size of a lime. I ended up giving birth to a beautiful baby boy with no complications during pregnancy. I am so blessed to have dodged this bullet, my son is my EVERYTHING. Imagine if I'd cracked under pressure and allowed Dr. Tapia to remove my uterus.

I have been seeing Dr Tapia since the 90s and he is the best. Warm, caring and knowledgeable. He is always available whatever your need.

Signed a consent -and went for a surgery that lasted 4 hrsr Dr. Tapia Assure me that the surgery was done, 13 months later I found out that he lie .After a sonogram and a MRI was done went for a second opinion confirming my suspicion. Very good bedside manner and very friendly , not a good surgeon and a good lier too.

Doctor did not answer any of our questions. Office staff is rude.

Worst experience ever, he adviced me a procedure I didn't need!!!please seek another opinions!!! Don't ruin your life !!!

Dr. Tapia is old school. He knows his stuff ! He is a funny guy and makes you feel comfortable with what he does. Before he does any procedure he goes over it and tells you what is going on before it happens. I have had to wait a little while longer than I cared to before but I know that things happen. Besides that the wait time isn't long (normally) and he is a all around good Dr. even the staff has always been helpful.

I arrived 20 minutes early for my appointment knowing I needed to fill out new patient paperwork. That was complete before my appointment time. Even with that, I was in this office for 2 hours for a routine office visit. Dr. Tapia does not have good bedside manner and did not listen to me when I told him things about my history or my body cycles. Heard him being condescending to another patient through the paper-thin walls as well- she left crying. Will not be returning to this office.

Save me from having an unnecessary hysterectomy about ten years ago. Very professional and knowledgable. Thank you.

Dr. Tapia safe my life about 3 years ago. I went to 3 different emergency rooms, for severe pain. No Doctors couldnt figure out why I was having severe lower abdominal pain.I was in severe pain for weeks. Until a caseworker referred me to Dr. Tapia. As soon he saw how severe my pain was. He perform the same sonogram and blood work that every emergency room did. Dr tapia discovered that I was bleeding internal.I THANK AND APPRECIATE Dr Tapia for recognizing my medical issue.
