List of Optical Outlets's Reviews
I scheduled an appointment for my disabled dad (He's in a motorized scooter). He has Careplus Insurance, which they are participating providers for. My sister and I took him to the Optical Outlet in Altamonte Springs. We both went so we could help him transfer to the exam chair. Once we arrived, we were told that he could not be seen under his Careplus that day because the website was down and they were unable to verify his benefits. I explained how taxing it was for my sister and I to both take off work to make this appointment happen. The ladies at the front desk could care less! I asked them if they could call Careplus to verify benefits. They stated that they must have a print-out. I requested that they call Careplus and ask if they could have a print-out emailed or faxed to them. One girl had no desire to make this call but her colleague stepped up and said she would. After waiting for probably 20 more minutes, she tells me they're still on hold. At this point I tell her that we will just pay for the eye exam. She then proceeds to say that she will need to check with the doctor to see if he can still see us. The appointment was scheduled for 2:30pm and we arrived prior to that. It is a little after 3pm when she checks with the doctor and are told that he could still see us but it's going to be a really long wait since they haven't had any cancellations and he has to see everyone that came in after us first. Are you freaking kidding me?! We had a scheduled appointment, arrived on time and are now being told that we would have to wait as if we were a walk-in. I apologize if this sounds like a big run on sentence, but I'm so angry while typing this review. Needless to say, we left at that point. I will never step foot in an Optical Outlet again! There are better ways to treat your patients. You need to have some compassion and empathy. Put yourself in our shoes. Imagine if you took off work to bring a disabled parent to an appointment and received the type of service you gave us that day. The staff should be ashamed of themselves!
I visited Optical Outlets Altamonte Springs on August 18, 2022. I was intrigued by the cleanliness and friendly atmosphere of the business.I didn't wait too long to be seen. The physician attended me very nicely, explaining what tests he was going to perform. My pupils were dilate. I then proceeded to pick out my frames. Eunice (Employee#766) introduced herself to me, helped me look at different frames until we both decided on the perfect pair for me. She was so professional and went above and beyond for me.We then proceeded to her desk where she put together the perfect plan for me, one according to my budget and what my insurance also covered. There ought to be more employees like Eunice, caring, friendly and knows what she's doing. "Keep up the great work, Eunice!"Crucita M
I brought my grandmother here to pick up her glasses. We were never greeted when we arrived and were ignored for some time. Unprofessional!
I only went here because they take my child's insurance. The front staff was helpful. "Doctor" Leonard Jacoby is a joke. Poor communication skills and frankly just rude. Never explained anything. Performed the eye exam like he was doing me a favor. This old man needs to retire if he's burned out from doing his job. Needless, to say I didn't purchase my child's glasses there.
I only went here because my daughters insurance is accepted here. Still ended up paying $145 for one pair of glasses! Which is crazy to me.... Anyway still waiting after 3 weeks for her glasses, when they were promised to be here in 10-14 days! Have called numerous of times waited on hold have been disconnected, and still received no call back! Will not be coming back optical outlets ever again!
The service was really nice and informational. Eunice helped me out, she was every helpful when giving out information and was super nice. Great place!
I understand that things and way of operating is different now with the covid going on... HOWEVER... they should tell you over the phone when scheduling your appointment the requirements. Both me and my husband showed up with our son, all they said was only one of us was allowed on the room with him when we where checking him in. They never ever told my husband to exit the building. He went out to smoke a cigarette and when he tries to come back with his face mask on may I add they denied him from entering. When he WAS ALREADY INSIDE WAITING WITH US! so my husband had to stand outside and wait for over an hour in the heat. And may I add the long wait times to even be seen. The staff had no regard or concern of what was going on. Basically just shrugged their shoulders instead of owning up to their mistake on the misinformation.
So after rescheduling the appointment three different times I get an appointment for today Saturday get there they take my temperature tell me I have 102 temperature and I go home I go home take my temperature and it's 98.6 I'm not hot I have no fever not happy at all.
I'm pretty happy with my insurance provider, going into my second year now. But one thing I've not been thrilled with is their choice of eye care provider. I'm stuck with a limited choice and generally outlets that are not very customer-friendly, or friendly PERIOD. Well at least the front staff here, over-worked as they may be, are fairly friendly, and take great care in asking customers to set aside frames they've handled aside, which they then sanitize before displaying them again. But they have crappy selection that borders between 'ugly' and 'are you kidding me?' What I'm least happy with is the eye exam I got; very by-the-book, with scant information. I was told I had cataracts before, but this latest exam did not provide much information on where I am now. Man, I miss Dr. Tartibi. Today, I got my prescription glasses in (not from THEM, God forbid). Everything was great, but I can definitely read better with my bi-focals off than on. Could have saved a boatload of money with single vision!!
I get that we are going through a pandemic. But what is going on at Altamonte optical outlets is not acceptable. I bought glasses two months ago it took two months because they shipped them to wrong address. I asked to speak to a general manager . They gave me the number to corporate I called , no one called me back. Round two: ordered my sons glasses almost 4 weeks ago. We were told they would be here in two weeks . Made sure they had correct address. No glasses! I called the store spoke with Aresole who told me they were left with front desk at apartment ( front desk does not take deliveries mind you) . They claim it was shipped and they have tracking number . When I called back to speak to Aresole she tells me they will send out new ones. I'm thinking if you have tracking wouldn't you just track them? I've called corporate office to complain and they will not call you back . If you can, it's best to find either another location( I did like the colonial location) . Or find another store.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
