I had rectal cancer stage 3. After many months of radiation and chemotherapy my tumor was no longer visible and my lymph nodes appeared normal. My first team wanted to remove my entire rectum. I researched and discovered ‘watch and wait’ none operative management. I met with 5 extra colorectal surgeons across the country who all confirmed I may be a candidate . I met with Dr Tilahun last. He answered every single question I had, he listened, he cared. Not only that, he instilled a sense of peace in me that shocked me to be honest as I had spent almost 2 months KNOWING that what my first team had planned for me just did not feel right for me. I immediately canceled my surgery. I knew if after the tests Dr Tilahun did even if he told me I should have surgery I only wanted him to do it. I passed all of the tests and go there every 3 months (4 hr drive) for scans and followups. Over a year later I still have no evidence of disease…. And my rectum. He and his PA Nicole are ANGELS.

Tilahun is empathetic, compassionate, and treats you as you're his only patient of the day when in the exam room. I highly recommend him as a colorectal surgeon / physician. Dr. Tilahun was also an amazing physician for my father with colorectal cancer. He was kind, patient and gentle in his words always offering options for my dad. 10 stars!

I was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer & Dr Tilahun was recommended to do my tumor surgery. On my first consultation with Dr. Tilahun I could tell right away that he was the surgeon for me. He took the time explain & draw everything in easy to understand procedure and treatment. Today I am 2 years cancer free and feel I will stay that way thanks to his treatment and rehabilitations.

I can't say enough on how thorough Dr Tilahun and his associates where before, during, and after surgery. I felt great after surgery which has continued on to this day, ( 1 month after surgery. I highly recommend Dr Tilahun.

I have now had 2 surgeries in 11 months done by Dr Tilahun- his wisdom and deep thinking made my most recent surgery a huge success!! Nicole, Dr T's PA - wow!! She is the perfect person to be teamed with Dr T. Both are seriously hands on, and when a problem presented itself, Nicole was at my bedside in the hospital within 30 minutes of being called!! I hope to never need the services of Dr Tilahun again, other than follow ups, but if I do, I know I'm in excellent hands. THANKS!

I honestly can't say enough about how wonderful Dr. Tilahun and his staff are. The first doctor I saw for my condition was awful and is the only specialist in my county. I had to go outside my county for another specialist and it was by chance I selected Advent Health and was connected with Dr. Tilahun. I was so nervous and so scared on my first visit and I was met with such kindness, understanding, and compassion. I was very relieved to have someone actually listen to me then explain all available options to help me choose what was best for me. My surgery was in Jan 2022 and it was truly life-changing. I have my life back and I am so grateful to Dr. Tilahun and his entire staff. Thank you!

I had been battling ongoing intestinal pain and discomfort for some time. (Years ) Fear kept me from getting the treatment I needed. Dr. Tilahun, Nicole and office staff made me feel super safe, Great Energy, and that’s important to me. EVERYTHING was explained in thorough detail what I was to expect. Took the advise , surgery was 12/14/21. Best decision ever. 3 weeks post surgery and I was back at work with minimal discomfort after having intestines removed. I would say I had the Best doctor and staff. If you come to their office and you didn’t have a great experience, the problem is You!

Dr Tilahun preformed surgery on me Dec 14,2021, since that time, I’ve experienced bleeding. He & his great PA Nicole are still working with me trying to help me anyway they can. I love this team, they are knowledgeable, they care so much, they go out of their way to help the patient.
