John Mooney's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Mooney is very attentive and has a wonderful bedside manner. He is an active listener and was very empathic to the needs and concerns of his patients. I never felt rushed or minimized once in his office and I felt very safe during my procedure in the hospital. Dr. Mooney went above and beyond to answer all my questions (and I had MANY). I recommend him to anyone in need of a cardiologist in the North Florida area.

Always outstanding. He listens well, asks a lot of questions, and explains his opinion clearly. His office is impossible, never returns phone calls and over schedules his appointments. The waiting time to see the Doctor is usually about an hour.

Doctors think their time is more important than yours. I waited 2+months to get an appointment for an initial cardiology work up at Dr. Mooney‘s office. I was told to come in a half hour early for my 11:00 appointment to fill out paperwork. It took four minutes. I waited the next 26 minutes until my 11:00 appointment. Then, as you might expect, I started the next round of waiting. At 11:33 I walked back up to the counter to ask why I hadn’t been seen yet. The receptionist went and checked in the back then reported there was an issue at the hospital that Dr. Mooney had to cover. She said he was back and thought she could “room me” in about 20 minutes but there were two other patients still ahead of me and it would be at least an hour before the doctor could see me. I understand that a cardiologist may have an emergency to tend to, but there was no indication from the reception desk that there was any impending delay. It took me going up to the desk at the 1 hour 3 minute mark to find out that it would be another 1 hour 20 minute delay before I would be seen. Needless to say, I left and will not return. As usual doctors and doctor’s offices think their time is more important than yours or mine.

Dr. Mooney ordered several tests & did a great job at explaining the tests and the results in an understandable way. Great doctor & great person!

Having been past patients of Dr Farid Ullah, we took his recommendation very seriously. Dr Mooney has been fabulous.. He listens, and listens intensely. We ask questions and he answers them, We seek assistance with other problems like diet, foods, activities, drugs, and cardiac health conditions. He fully explains it all and does it with clarity. We question options and test results. Again fully explained. He remembers personal details of your life and I commend his sincerity. Great doctor, smart doctor. I can't imagine him not caring about your concerns.!!!

I am very disappointed in the way they have handled my significant others care. He needed a heart monitor and they were supposed to order it in June and they didn’t get around to getting it to him till end of September. It sat in someone’s desk! Oops !!Then he needed an ecostress test and they scheduled him the appointment 2 weeks before but didn’t send the referral to insurance for approval till the day before.needless to say it was not approved in time and he did not receive it. The man has had severe chest pains and shortness of breath breath all they had to do was order it in time or put a rush on it! I begged insurance to send it through, and called the office and tried to get them to. The lack of urgency with how they have handled him is frustrating. He is so frustrated and upset I’m afraid he’s going to have a stroke!

I thought Dr. Mooney was knowledgeable and attentive. He listened patiently to my concerns. I didn't feel rushed when explaining my ailments. Although I am a new patient, I believe I made a wise choice in selecting Dr. Mooney.

I think he is a wonderful communicator. He listens to my concerns and gives understandable answers. He also understands the high costs of medicines, and gives concrete advice on ways to save. I'd rate him a 10.

Dr Mooney was great and his staff was friendly but follow up was not good, getting a call back to schedule a procedure took nearly 3 weeks for an appt that would take another week or two to get in, which is not good when dealing with the heart.
