Attentive, listened; appeared knowledgeable and competent
Doctor Stapleton is a great cardiologist as well as having a great personality, I would recommend him to anyone!
My father was admitted into Baptist on a Thursday. He was already in CHF. On Friday, the family was told by his current cardiologist (not Stapleton) that there was nothing else he could do, that we were looking at maybe two days if we were lucky. He told us to call in family to say their goodbyes. We asked about open heart surgery and was told my father was not a candidate. This same cardiologist left Friday afternoon, the last thing we were told was that he would not be reachable through the weekend and that IF my father lasted until Monday, he would see us then. He left us to watch him die a slow misterable death. Dr. R. Stapleton arrived shortly after the current cardiologist’s departure. He offered to do the open heart surgery almost immediately after looking over his chart. He told us he was hoping to give him at least six more months. Saturday morning He performed the surgery, during which he lost my father several times but Dr Stapleton wouldn’t give up On him. We got six months almost to the day. He offered six months and with the Lord’s blessing we were given just that. Thank you Dr. Stapleton for those six treasured months. The Davis Family
Dr. Stapleton is great. So respectful and very informative. His staff is always helpful.
Terrible doctor in my opinion. My father was admitted into Baptist hospital after a heart attack. He survived but began to have fluid buildup causing severe anxiety, which my father had never experienced before in his life. Dr. Stapleton was more concerned about the anxiety than the fluid build up. Most all the staff treated my father like he was a crazy person. The fluid retention WAS the reason for the anxiety! The nurses demanded he lay down in bed when my father just could not because of the fluid and Dr. Stapleton was no where to be found when I visited after work each day. I never could talk to him directly, only through the nursing staff. Dr. Stapleton tried to release my father from the hospital almost every. single. day for a period of 2 weeks so that he could get my father out of his care but something would happen either with his vitals or his anxiety to prevent the staff from releasing him. Finally there came the day came where they were able release him (early enough in the morning so that nothing could prevent my father from being discharged) and sent him to rehabilitation services. My father should not have been cleared for release. He was transferred to Brookdale Rehab AND DIED 2 HOURS later. Yes, that is right he died 2 hours later. Good for you, doctor! You suceeded in not having to have a death on your clock but bad for you doctor because you could have done more addressing the fluid build up. Shame on you! You could have done more and you wrote my father off. He was a human being not just another chart to look at. I would go elsewhere if you are considering this doctor as someone to trust you or your loved ones life with.
Awesome Dr. And Staff. He took over my mom's care when she moved from SC. We had been under the care of a cardiologist at St Vincent's but Dr Stapleton listens and knows his stuff! My mom is not a easy case with CHF and COPD and Kidney failure. She has had open heart already and many stents. He placed a pacemaker the last time. Great Dr in my opinion!
I desired a cardiologist who would be decisive. After a whirlwind of tests and appointments, I was hospitalized to follow up on recent chest discomfort. Dr Stapleton walks in and said “hello” we’re going for a catheterization to find out what’s going on. The outcome led to bypass surgery instead of stints. Every step of the way, I received the best care from Dr. Stapleton and his staff. I never once felt like just a number. He is always interested in my concerns and questions, never ending an appointment until i have received an answer. One year later He is still MY cardiologist!
Through my bypass surgery & stint placements, Dr. Stapleton was very astute in assessing my condition & then seeing me through the procedures. He was thorough in explaining the issues & informed me of every step in the process. His experience & depth of knowledge was obvious from the beginning. I highly recommend Dr. Stapleton.
I never met dr Stapleton until right before my cardiac catheterization. He was so nice and reassuring. He ended up putting two stents in me. I was 54 years old. He spent time asking about my history and lifestyle. On each follow up visit he went over the labs then spent a good bit of time talking with me. Never talking down to me. It’s been almost a year and we got my cholesterol down where it needs to be. He is very talented in his field and very kind and caring. I highly recommend Dr Stapleton
Stent implant and review. Dr. Stapleton is very cordial and makes one feel quite comfortable.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
