Heidi Bahna's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Heidi Bahna performed rectal surgery on me, October 12, 2021, at JFK Medical Center. She was recommended to me by my GI doctor. I saw Dr. Bahna in her office and that is THE ONLY TIME I saw her. She never came in to see me prior to the surgery nor did I see her after the surgery. Nothing about the procedure was explained to me and I was sent home without any idea of what to expect. I was also sent home with nothing for pain. I called her office three times in two days because I was in a great deal of pain. I was not informed by her that I would not have control of my bowels for several weeks after the surgery, and so the fact that I was, basically, crapping myself, regularly, was a serious issue. I called that office over 6 times to speak with the doctor and got excuses that went from they were remodeling the office to she was on vacation. After three weeks of getting the runaround and NEVER hearing from my surgeon, I called the GI who recommended her. not recommend

1st appointment ever she made me wait 45 minutes to see her resident who she did not even Take the time to introduce. O by the way the waiting Room was empty. She spent appropriate time with me but didn't really seem to listen to why I was there. She told me she would send a prescription in and days later has not done so. She's affiliated with the University of Miami and clearly thinks she is still practicing in a clinic instead of a private office. Frankly the experience was so negative actually felt a bit traumatized by it. Complete lack of respect and I would not go back. Buyer beware. You know she could be a great doctor and just a lousy human being. Typical of University clinic type doctors and of doctors in general today.

Excellent. If I could give Dr Bahna 10 stars I would. Caring and thorough answers questions. Great manner. Doesnt make one feel rushed.

Would definitely recommend Dr Bahna but not her staff. Very lax on any kind of responsiblilty when it comes to her patients. Very disappointed in how irresponsible they are.

The Doctor is Excellent the front desk is less then Zero to make appointment with Dr Bahna, I made appointment with Bahna for follow up after surgery, I even use a sick day from work to see her because she’s only there on Mondays they called me in and the RN came in room to talk to me, she said that I had appointment with her I said absolutely not my appointment is with Dr Bahna she the one that needs to see me for follow up, the RN said well she’s busy with a patient and it’s going to be a long time for her to see you, I said I was the first appointment at 8:30am with Dr Bahna this is unacceptable, I was so upset I was going to walk out and I really needed to see her Bahna she did the surgery not the RN. I got dressed and walk out to the front desk to question them who took my appointment away with Dr Bahana and set me up with the RN the room went still, I was just about to walk out when Manager in office called me to Apologize and she then got the DR. Front desk less then Zero beware

Super amazing Dr. Bahna (and staff) was very thorough and thoughtful in listening and had a very genuine and caring approach to my medical care in such a sensitive area and topic.

It was my first visit to a proctologist, everything was professional, Heidy was nice to me. I got great advice about how to be healthy and maintain everything in good shape.

Great bedside manner

This woman is a gift to medicine. Highly educated, delightful bedside manner and totally available to the patient. And that’s very refreshing in modern healthcare. She’s not a dart in, dart out, you’re just a number kinda Doctor. And I speak from personal experience that she is a wonderful surgeon also.
