I am a snow bird and have been seeing Dr. Sharma for 6 months each year and being seen at the Mayo Clinic for 6 months per year. My doctor at Mayo recommended him and I have been extremely pleased with his care since 2014. At one point I was having a lot of trouble and he correctly diagnosed the problem and recommended the cure.

Saw Dr Sharma he wanted to see me again in 6 months. I have called 6 times over the last 3 months to schedule an appointment but they keep saying their calendar for October is not open yet. We are 2 weeks away from October and no appointment yet! Unbelievable.

I thought I needed new glasses due to an onset of blurry vision. Went for eye exam and my opthamalogist told me something more serious was going on.. She referred me to Dr Sharma. I was able to get an appointment to see him very quickly. After a thorough exam by his staff, Dr Sharma informed me I had a macular hole and needed surgery sooner rather than later. The surgical center staff was excellent and Dr Sharma has been wonderful throughout this frightening experience.

When the assistant checks your peripheral vision by putting her arms out and wiggling her fingers. There is NO other imaging equipment. The next and last exam is the 'Dr' looking into each eye, calling out terms to the assistant, gives you a piece of paper with your 'diagnosis' and out the door. The whole visit is bulls*** and an HMO ripoff. I will contact my insurance carrier in order to report this garbage and find, if possible, a legitimate, technologically supported medical practice accepted by my insurance.

I had an emergency with possible detached retina. I was on vacation here and called the Southwest Florida Retina Center in Ft. Myers. The staff was very accommodating, courteous, and helpful from start to finish. They had me come in an hour and a half after I called. Even though I was a last-minute appointment, I was prepped, examined and completed in less than two hours. Dr. Sharma was pleasant, helpful, and knowledgeable. I have full confidence in him and would definitely return
