Farhat Mehmood's Online Review Report Card

I doubt I will ever get back to 100%, but with open heart surgery, aortic valve replaced with porcine valve and mitral valve repaired with regurgitation then a pacemaker by Dr. Mahmood decision after going a month with a heart rate of 38bpm. Im still having underlying issues that haven't been resolved. Everytime I go to an appointment and tell them, I'm not capable of doing any exerted labor of any without feeling weak and dizzy with pressure on my chest, they go to their print out and look then say everything looks ok. My ejection fraction dropped from 64 to 60 in 4 months. That should be a red flag there, but top no avail. He goes back to the paper work and reads everything and says we will start seeing you every year......?????? What? Why so long? I would like a second opinion but cannot get a referral.

COVID made my appts required to be by FaceTime, but I have been very impressed by his thoroughness in reviewing my records prior to seeing me and the time he spent talking with me and my daughter both before and after my cardiac ablation. I did not feel like a new patient but rather like someone he had been seeing for quite some time. Not only was he very attentive to me and my questions, but his staff also. There was always a call back if I left a message. He did the necessary tests before the procedure to determine my needs and made certain that my allergy to IV dye was covered by giving me the necessary medications to take prior to the xrays and the procedure and made sure I stopped my blood thinner a few days before the procedure. He showed me the tests results, explained the procedure and expected results and possible complications, recovery time and length of time that I may still experience some AFIB. I felt totally protected and at ease with having the procedure.

As always the care, consideration and knowledge of the staff is exceptional, courteous, professional and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this office to anyone needing an excellent heart doctor or need to transfer from a different doctor. The Office staff are as good as the Doctors.

Dr Mehmood done a internal echo and put in a looper recorder August 26 of 2019. Have had no problem thus far.

I highly recommend Dr. Mehmood and West Florida Cardiology for your cardiological needs. They have taken very good care of me for years, including exams, procedures, followups and maintenance visits.

He never seems to be in a rush and is always willing to listen to you. He is known to be one of the best, if not THE BEST! *In addition, I was very positively impressed with everyone that I had contact with when I had my atrial flutter ablation...From the admitting staff all the way to the surgery staff...Everyone was personable, caring, courteous and professional!
