Peace River Center's Online Review Report Card

AVOID!!! my friend was just discharged from here and was flat out medically neglected. they took her medication and refused to administer them to her. she was not spoken to by a counselor once during her stay. they provided no hygiene products. this is flat out abuse of patients in any circumstances, but to treat patients who are at their lowest and most vulnerable in this manner is just flat out sadistic and vile. poisoners are treated better than this. i will be reporting this facility to anyone and everyone possible.

I was Baker acted and this place was a complete nightmare, the doctor has no heart and no compassion, told me I had no right to be deppresed.This place is terrible and hostile, they didnt help us they just sat us in front of a TV for hours all day.

Run! Don’t walk! Beds bugs, over 25 bug bites in a 4 day stay. They asked me my allergies - Gluten, even having that knowledge they still gave me regular meals. I wasn’t given meds for sleep because a mistake was made on their end. Through sleep deprivation, bed bugs, and hunger I felt nothing short of being tortured. I had severe PTSD upon leaving. During my stay my life was threatened by one of the other patients. Nothing was done about it. It was so cold, I explained I needed an extra blanket because I get pneumonia easily, one of the workers said “when you get pneumonia we’ll treat it here”. Out of the entire staff there may have been only 2 or 3 who actually cared. It’s just so sad to see that this is the type of place you are supposed to go during crisis and get better but instead I left feeling 100 times worse. If you love someone don’t send them here!!

Ok....1. I was Baker Acted 2 to the Bartow Crisis Stabilization Unit. Both times when the dr said this is not the place for you and let me go in 24hrs one time and 18 hours the second time. I was rushed out with about an hours ride home and no transportation. First time they let me out and said my insurance was going to send someone for me but I had to hurry or i would miss them. After they let me out i could not get back in the building and my phone was dying. No ride ever showed and there was no answer from the only number i had in my phone which was the crisis line. I had to uber home over an hour away at nearly 85.00!

The lack of compassion they have for people here is unacceptable which is really sad taking into consideration that the patients that come here and loved ones that come to visit are obviously going through a tough time in their lives as it is. I am only giving it two stars because ONE employee was extremely helpful.

If you don't currently want to kill yourself, a stay here will change your mind. I was admitted here following a car accident. I had 3 broken ribs, a broken clavicle and multiple punctures and lacerations. Hospital gave me a prescription for lortab for the intense pain. They withheld my meds for the 72 hours I was incarcerated. I should've sued for malpractice.

Was sent here when I was around 10 years old. Still haven't healed from the trauma I had experienced here.

A professional atmosphere.

Y'all should already know this isn't a place to send someone you love. I was in the adolescent center twice and it looks like it's just been getting worse year after year. They just want to bill you, no treatment whatsoever unless you consider being given drugs the best you can have.This is an awful place, I still have trauma circling around it. Send an adolescent here and I guarantee you, it will haunt them. The only thing I can say is that the people who take the blood work are definitely good people.
