I am a veteran and had a scheduled colonoscopy. During the procedure, a mass was discovered and a biopsy followed and the result was deemed malignant. A CT scan followed and the result of the scan showed a rectal neoplasm. A consultation with the oncologist followed and a MRI and PET scan were ordered to determine the exact location and size of the cancer and if it had metastasized to other parts of the body. A consultation with Dr Taitano was scheduled. Dr Taitano performed an exam of the mass and reviewed the results of the MRI and PET scan with me and my daughter. Dr Taitano was very specific in explaining the position of the cancer and how it had adhered to the wall of the rectum and the potential difficulty in removing it. He explained the possible options that we would make after further consultations with the radiology and oncology departments. I am totally pleased with the service and way Dr Taitano explained a difficult and sensitive problem. Alton R Jacobs
