Dr. Born performed a major rotator cuff repair on my shoulder also. I was scared to have this done as my mother had it done 20 years ago in CA and only acquired 50% movement back.. after 6 months of therapy post surgery, I have 95% of mine back! Hated the first 2 months after surgery but so glad I had it done! Thank you Dr. Born for taking care of me! Sad you moved on to another hospital, I need you for my knee next! lol

Care was marginal, billing was a nightmare. Office assured me twice, after multiple calls to resolve the account, that payment was resolved. Then we received notice from a collection agency that it was not. I personally do not need this kind of service in the midst of dealing with a life threatening medical emergency.

I broke my hip and was taken to Doctor's Hospital where Dr. Born was "on call". He saw me immediately and performed surgery the following day. During my recuperation, my PT had a few concerns and Dr. Born made himself easily available by phone. I'm 6 weeks post-surgery, walking without assistance and with very little discomfort. Dr. Born is a remarkable surgeon. I recommend him to friends and family, and am grateful for him and his staff. I had a extensive, complicated rotator cuff surgery and he handled it with ease and was patient, explaining every step and procedure to myself and to my husband.

I recommend Dr. Born to anyone who is considering an orthopedic surgeon. He has top skills, not only surgically but also interacting with his patient. He took time to explain the problems I had and what his surgical procedure would entail, the recuperation period, physical therapy, etc. He took time explain the X-rays and the MRI to me. After the operation he showed my daughter the surgery that had been video taped. In my follow up appointments he did the same and he answered all my questions thoroughly and honestly. I have the highest regard for his professional skills and his endeavors to achieve a positive outcome for my rotary cuff repair.

Dr. Born performed a "massive" rotator cuff repair on my shoulder in August. Seven months post surgery, I have 98% range of motion and I am back to playing golf! I highly recommend Sarasota Orthopedics, great surgeons and physical therapists.

I had extensive shoulder/arm damage, one of the worst cases Dr. Born had seen. He was unsure if repair would be successful or if shoulder replacement was needed. After 6 hrs of surgery,weeks of rest,weeks of rehab,my arm is as good as new. Dr. Born repaired all damage & surprisingly, my preexisting carpal tunnel syndrome was gone despite that not being a part of my surgery. He is kind, friendly, an outstanding surgeon & makes sure the patient understands everything about their situation.

Our experience with Dr. Born has been superior. My Mother fractured her hip late in the day and he came in late evening to do her surgery. Her hip healed excellently. She’s 86. Out of hospital and rehab in one month and back to her home. Dr Born was professional but caring. Answering all questions and explaining x rays etc. staff is wonderful. We did not wait long at office visits. Cannot day enough how we came to respect and trust Dr. Born.
