And when the meds she was writing for were not working, she sent me to a place that she said would take a second look at what she prescribed and add to it anything they thought would help. IT WAS A BAKER ACTING FACILITY SHE SENT ME TO. I was unaware of this (mind you I wasn't suicidal or anything). I had no idea what this place was until I went to the front desk, explained why I was there and they escorted me to the back where I was locked in, held for 3 hours while awaiting evaluation, had my personal effects including phone and keys taken away and it scared me half to death. I am a rape survivor and a major childhood trauma survivor who already was weary of doctors as I had not really found one that would really listen to me and her pulling that mess made it 10000 times worst. I never went back to see her again. I changed physicians immediately. She is unethical, rude, uncaring, cold and should NOT BE IN HEALTHCARE, let alone MENTAL health. I reported her.

I’ve been seeing Dr Gifford for 15 years. She is an amazing doctor and keeps up to date on today’s psychiatric information.

INFORMATION UPDATE: Dr. Gifford closed her Orange Ave. office in May/Jun 2019. She has moved to Vero Beach. Here is her new information. I am set up with them and have a camera in place and test. She claims she keeps sending me appointment notices, but I never get anything. And ClockTree does not even list her as one of their providers. I keep calling her and giving her my correct email address, but I never receive a meeting notice. This is very frustrating. Almost feels like patient abandonment, or her advanced age may also be an issue. Not an accusation. Just a concern.

I called to make an appointment and was greeted by an angry Dr. Gifford. She was extremely short with me and just said, "I'm closing down the office." That is fine, but anyone who has ever called a psychiatrist knows how hard it is to make that call. To be so rude in inexcusable. I highly recommend if she ever opens another office that you find another provider who is actually caring. She clearly does not understand how difficult it is to reach out to a doctor and should find another specialty.

Wonderful. Great listener. Gifted diagnostician. Role model for girls. A gem, make good suggestions and is not afraid to speak the truth.

I'm a fully grown adult. Dr. Gifford refused to see me without my mother present, which not only violates HIPPA and Doctor-Patient Confidentiality laws, but is also just plain bizarre. I didn't book a family session. On top of this, she informed me I didn't have to fill out the paperwork - meaning she had no idea who I was, besides my name, nor what my medical history is. And while not illegal, I do think it's rather strange that the doctor is the receptionist, meaning she's the only person employed in the entire office.

Very knowledgable. Older physician-with a wealth of experience. Trust her. Excellent regarding treatment of my teenage daughter.
