Dr Aker saved my eyesight over 30 years ago while at North Shore hospital in Manhasset. I have visited him in Boca Raton as well. Great doctor. Nicer person.

Dr Aker, a West Point graduate who was a Corps Commander, has obviously instilled those disciplines in his practice and on his staff. I have never been so impressed by such a knowledgeable, caring physician and Staff of nurses and associates who accept nothing less than excellence. This behavior has proven itself in a job well done on my cataract surgery. My eyes went from a cloudy day to super high definition vision in an absolutely painless 10-minute procedure. Excellent care from receptionist to physician. You can trust that you will receive all the appropriate options for your eye lenses and an understanding of laser versa non laser removal. Their communication pre-op and post op is extraordinary in this day and age. The nurses are attentive, positive and proficient in all they do. Everyone in the Aker-Kasten office knows their jobs and the place works like a finely tuned Swiss watch. Not only is Dr. Aker my favorite ophthalmologist, he's my favorite physician I've had over the course of my entire life. The entire staff is friendly and genuinely caring.

This practice is nothing like it use to be!!! Stay far away from here. This practice does not care about the health of your eye, only wants your money and does nothing for your eyes. BEWARE!!!

I was a hospice nurse, sometimes on the road after dark and couldn't read any of the street signs and the halos around all the street lights were so difficult to see, really huge and blinding. Other ophthalmologists said to wait until they got worse. Dr. Aker examined me and said, that's nonsense. There's no reason to wait. He scheduled me for surgery the following week on the first eye and the week after that for the second eye. The surgery was so easy and he was so caring and gentle with me, as was all his staff. That was in 2003 and here, fifteen years later, my vision is still 20/20 as it was immediately after with no complications whatsoever, and I see a doctor in his office every year or two for my checkups and wouldn't go anywhere else. I could not recommend Dr. Aker and his staff enough! They are by far the best in the area!
