OMG I cannot say enough about this surgeon. He literally rebuilt my back with staples, screws and rods he did an amazing job most of my pain is gone and I have a really cool scar to talk about. He is amazing and has a fabulous bedside manner in my opinion he is the very best when it comes to anything to do with your back. He is absolutely the BEST!
I am very comfortable with Dr GangaValli and he has fabulous bedside manner I also like his approach to be on the conservative side of my problem and I did not have to ask for a second opinion he offered one that’s huge for me
Dr. Gangavalli and the entire staff at Ortho Virginia were most kind, caring and professional in my recent treatment at their location. Everyone was helpful and precise in answering my questions and making sure that I was comfortable before, during and after my procedure. I would highly recommend Dr. Gangavalli and his staff to anyone seeking the finest in healthcare.
Having spent 23 years in military medicine i met more than a few Ortho/Spine specialists. All very good but not as good as Dr. Gangavalli. He is not instantly into surgery as a cure. He wants the patient to try other potential remedies first, that could produce the same resolution. He took the time to explain my procedure to my wife so she understood it clearly. Highest marks for this provider that truly wants the best for his patients.
I have been to Dr Gangavalli several times concerning my back problems. I have two discs in my lower spine which went completely flat, causing tremendous amount of pain. Unfortunately, surgery is not an option and even a procedure to implant artificial discs isn’t either, according to Dr Gangavalli. It has been physical therapy which has helped me greatly!
In 2021, Dr Gangavalli operated on our dad who is in his mid 80s for cervical stenosis. He was using a wheelchair and now gets around with a cane
Dr Gangavalli was referred to me by my back and spine doctor. He sat down with me and explained in detail what my procedure would entail. He gave me some choices about my procedure and answered all my questions. He is very personable and very easy to talk to.
I never met Dr. Gangavalli, as my initial appt was done by the PA. Dealing with this office has been a NIGHTMARE!. You are not able to call the office directly, as you are supposed to call the 888 main number, to be placed on hold for over 45 minutes or longer. If you speak to someone, they do not follow up on your requests as they state. I have been trying to have my prescription for Physical Therapy and MRI, and this has been impossible to do. After trying the main # for weeks, I went to the office in person, to my surprise they refuse to give me the prescriptions, and told me I had to call the medical records department. I never heard of such a thing for a copy of a script. Just today, I was able to connect with someone, to be told that my therapy script had expired and I have to see the doctor again! This is just a SCAM, a way to schedule and charge the insurance of an unnecessary visit! This is simply medical over-utilization as a way to bill more. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!
I am writing this on behalf of my Mother who had her first visit with Dr. Gangavalli. After her exam & review of images, Dr said he would prescribe some medications.Mom asks if it would make her drowsy. He says in a condescending & annoyed tone "Okayyy no to medication" He then suggests a cortizone injection. My Mom asks What are the side effects. He says again in an annoyed tone and sighs " There are side effects with everything" (not really answering her question)My Mom then says "I am just skeptical of trying anything new because..." And HE CUT HER OFF and said "I don't want to hear about your skepticism" My Mom then said she wished there was something that could be put in between her vertebrae to alleviate the pain. He said in a snarky tone "Let me know when you invent it" If I could leave no stars I would. The worst of the worst. Dismissive, rude, condescending, disrespectful, unprofessional.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
