BUYER BEWARE! To start, Dr. Barry Schecter has zero bedside manner. After waiting more than an hour to see him, he gives me the ‘bums-rush’ out the door, insulting me when I asked a question. After paying $3600 for cataract surgery, he wanted to charge me an additional $50 to give me a copy of my own reading eyeglass prescription (squeeze every last penny, doc). Immediately after leaving his office today I signed a release form for another doctor to obtain my records from him and be done with Dr Barry Schecter, Florida Eye Microsurgical. What a horrible, dirty office with a pretentious doctor who acts like you haven't had years of suffering with no solution and he says simple things like he's a genius. Oh maybe I should wash my eyes - OH I didn't think of that oh-so-smart doctor. Please. Talk to me like I'm a normal, semi-intelligent human and I will respect you even if you don't respect me.

Great doctor, the whole office is great. And I can see like an eagle, a hawk. They just knew what to do and did it right. Great experience.

Sr. Schechter did laser surgery on me for narrow angles and has been a great Dr. he has always returned my phone calls when I had a concern and listened to my concerns during appointments. Great Dr.!

He restored my confidence in the medical profession all the way through Pre & Post Surgery of my eye cataract removal, and lens replacement; he never once doubted my successful recovery. Dr Barry A. Schechter, MD has properly diagnosed my eyes and determined that he could remove my cataracts and correct my vision with IOL implants, so that I would no longer need external glasses again for the rest of my life. I have undergone this operation and I can truly say that now I am eyeglasses free. I presently have excellent vision for closeup, medium and distant vision since surgery that took place only six weeks ago. At 80 years of age, I am no longer a slave to my trifocal external glasses that previously was on my eyes or in my pocket at all times. I have put away glasses in less than two weeks. He is an experienced ophthalmologist, professional, optimistic, kind, knowledgeable, with a great staff and had a positive outlook that made me feel very comfortable throughout the surgery process.
