Brian K. Kaplan's Online Review Report Card

Dr Kaplan abandoned me in my time of greatest need. I had a fall and broke two bones in my arm, one of them opened. When I called to let him know I was on my way to the hospital in an ambulance , I was told by the secretary that he didn’t work with that hospital and berated for going there. After again trying to reach him after stabilized , I was told I was no longer his patient. How a dr can do this to someone in their greatest time of need is a moral crime. I was vulnerable, medicated for pain and alone with no support system to navigate my care. I was given no explanation as to why I was treated this way by dr Kaplan from himself or Mdvip when I called with the complaint. Absolutely inhumane.

Dr.Kaplan spent more time with me then I can ever recall , for an office visit. The office staff is professional and friendly. The precautions against Covid 19 was well planned . I feel well taken care of and in a real partnership. I know he will be there for me whenever needed. He is authentic , wise, experienced . A real MENCH .

This summer, I was in the beautiful mountains of the Blue Ridge.One night while sitting next to a fire pit roasting marshmallows with my friends and family, I started having sharp pains like never before in my lower left side of my abdomen, I couldn’t get up from the chair since the pain was excruciating. At this point, my son had to help me back into the house and get me into bed.That night I tried to tuff out the pain until it went away however, the pain continued.My wife finally talked me into going to the local small-town hospital to see if they could help me.I do not remember much except the hospital gave me IV pain medicine which helped a little. I was taken for a cat-scan, then my wife told me that the results said I had a hole in my intestines. After spending the night, I spoke to a surgeon and asked him what is going to happen with me. He said most likely, I am going to have surgery that day.Well once I heard that, fear started to come over me which was very unusual since I am not scared easily. Since I was in a small-town hospital, I imagined the worst outcome possible.Lucky for me, I remembered my internal medicine Doctor, his name is Doctor Brian Kaplan out of Boca Raton Florida. Dr Kaplan has always made me comfortable when in his office or on the phone and always gave top care and advice.So, I told my wife to call Dr Kaplan. It was after hours and she left a detailed message with his service.At this point, I told my wife that she needed to get me out of this hospital. Like a Miracle, Dr Kaplan returned my wife’s call, it only took him 5 minutes to call her.After my wife spoke to Dr Kaplan, he advised for me to leave the hospital and get to a bigger well-known hospital if possible. My wife tried her absolute best to get me transferred but since this was happening at the same time as COVID-19, she was told repeatedly that no beds were available.Even though I was medicated and foggy, I saw my wife crying, so I asked her what is going on, she just said you have a hole in your intestines and I can’t get you out of this hospital.I told my wife to get Dr Kaplan on the Phone, she did, and I had a chance to speak to him. I told him the trouble we were having getting me transferred to a bigger hospital and since he already knew my condition, he sounded genuinely concerned.Then, Dr Kaplan said I believe I can help you, and to give him a little time and he will call me back.Well this is where the miracle really kicked into high gear. Dr Kaplan called right back as promised and he told me he spoke to one of his friends who was on the Board at Duke. His friend took charge and got a hold of his Doctors at Duke and they arranged for me to get transported to their hospital.The Doctors and nurses at Duke were incredible and they treated me with IV antibiotics and a NG tube to remove the bile from my system, seven day later, I was able to return home. One of the many things at Duke that impressed me, was the President of Duke came to my room and told me if there was anything I didn’t like or if I needed anything, all I needed to do was call her on the phone number she gave me and it would be taken care of immediately.I am incredibly grateful for the care I received at Duke and the excellent attention that I received from Dr Kaplan, thankfully two weeks later I am completely better.

Dr Kaplan had a friend at Duke who had me transfered to their hospital. After seven days on IV antibiotics I was able to go home without surgery.

The Doctor has the perfect BA!ance of intervention and allowing the body to naturally repair itself. I never felt rushed. His communication clear . He spoke to me at a level I understood.

Dr Kaplan spoke more about his family and life then he listened to about my health. The only person Dr Kaplan cares about is himself. Beware of an egomaniac.

Dr. Kaplan is looking out for one person - himself. Don’t waste your time.

Dr Brian Kaplan is a TERRIFIC Dr!!!!! If you're looking for someone that's going to take "Great Care" of you.... You won't be disappointed.

The most-rewarding medical experience you can have over that waking up from a long serious operation (had two "sliced open" aortic valves from Cleveland Clinic IN CLEVELAND) or hearing that you "do not have cancer, " is a face to face talk with Dr. Brian Kaplan. He is brilliant, thoughtful, thorough, pleasant, meticulous, caring & concerned. Frankly MDVIP is very lucky to have him!

I had the most terrible experience going to this awful practice. I met with Dr Kaplan and MDVIP after I had been dealing with long haul what I assume to be COVID symptoms for 8 months. I met with Dr Kaplan and explained that in the first couple months I would need a little attention because I have been suffering a lot. It has been the worst year of my life. He assured me he could help me and that he never gives up on his patients. I sent him $2200.Their office wouldn't see me for my first appointment until 1 MONTH LATER. This is concierge. Then, I got to my appointment and he walked in the office and said he had another patient outside that he had to see who had COVID and I would need to reschedule. I didn't cause any issues because I know what it's like to go through this- I was still going through this. I caused no issues. They rescheduled me the next week.I went in and the doctor never gave me any full physical examination- just listened to my heart and breathing and brought me in my office. He then told me his thinks I have chronic idiopathic urticaria. The immunologist had already diagnosed my with this and the paperwork was right in front of him.Then, he spent time talking about his family, his children, everything but me as a patient and I said nothing. He didn't talk about any medicine I was taking, nothing else. He sent me on my way.Then, I found an email describing many of my symptoms and sent them over hoping he would get back to see if I could look at another concept of care. He never emailed me back. I followed up with the office but after 5 days, I was frustrated. I called the office and they decided to RELEASE me as patient. I just broke down crying because Dr. Kaplan doesn't care about his patients. His has over 500 OF THEM! That is over $1,000,000 this doctor makes. How can you treat patients this way... I am at the lowest point of my life and to be discarded because he doesn't have 5 days to answer one email. Stay clear from his practice because he is still accepting new patients despite the fact that he has NO time to help them.
