Carlos Duran Martinez's Online Review Report Card

I went to Bethesda Hospital emergency due to COVID & was admitted due to an electrolyte issue, this doctor came to the entrance to my room and asked the attending nurse if I had COVID, he then turned around without saying one word to me and walked away, I NEVER saw him, I NEVER spoke to him, I NEVER had any interaction with this man yet he he had the brass ones to be the first to bill my insurance. He’s the reason why our insurance is so high, BOGUS claims, I’m in the process of disputing this claim with my insurance

Dr is completely clueless. Because of him overseeing my parents file, they had to be rushed to hospital & admitted when could have been prevented if Dr knew what he was doing & took the time to read the case file. I wouldn't trust this Dr even to take care of my pet rock let alone a human being. Stay away! Beware...

I always feel confident and comfortable with Dr. Duran Martinez .

The best of best Doctor ever. He proudly made Doctors attention and care, and be professional the high standards. God Bless him. Also the whole Team that work with him are extremely excellent.

From start to finish, my experience with this practice has been bad. I went with this physician and location (Boca Raton), because there were good reviews. I had an appointment 3 weeks ago on 6/21/2022. I filled out my paperwork timely and submitted to them. I spoke with Kennedi about having imaging available for them to use from the visit I had with Boca Regional that was taken 12/24/2021 of my kidneys. I told them a 2nd time about the imaging to make sure they had it for the appointment. I had made the appointment a month in advance. I could have had labs performed PRIOR to the appointment so they had information to reference. Instead, I sat in the office on my appointment date and had the doctor talk to me about my diagnosis with NO imaging available (because no one from Florida Kidney Physicians requested the images from the hospital as they were supposed to), and NO labs to reference. Not really much to discuss. Instead, I paid my copay to go over nothing. Dr. Duran mentioned they requested the images while I was in the office, and they should get them later that day, or the following day and he would personally call me to review them via phone. It's 3 weeks later, and still nothing. I've called twice to see if he was able to get the images and review them. The 1st call, they said they still hadn't gotten the records (and that was like a week or 2 after my appointment). I asked them to please follow up with this. Still haven't heard anything so I called this morning 7/12/2022 and they have the images, but was told "Dr. Duran must have forgotten to review them". Nice. I did my labs on 7/7/2022, so hopefully he can review them, as well as my images, and get back to me without "forgetting". I think the staff needs a lesson on making a patient feel human. Instead of saying "he forgot", make the situation right. I've been patient up until this point, you could make this a priority to have him give me a quick call to review things today and make things right for all the mishaps up until this point and this review would have potentially been rated better. All workplaces are busy and short staffed right now, and I get that, but this whole experience has been inexcusable. It is not my job as a patient to make sure you fulfill your responsibilities and tasks. Ball dropped from the moment I made my appointment, and it's sad because Dr. Duran seems knowledgeable, warm and kind, but it's doubtful that I will continue with him, or this practice, for my nephrology needs because of this entire experience.

Dr. Duran-Martinez is one of my favorite doctors. I have been seeing him for years now. He is kind and understanding. What I love about him is that he takes the time to explain anything and everything to his patients. He answers all your questions and doesn't ever make you feel that your questions are not important. he also is very knowledgeable about other medical issues you may have related to his field or not. He has a great staff! I mean that from the bottom of my heart. They have patience and understanding. I recently had problems getting a medication thru my insurance company. I do not know how many times I called the office, but never once did they make me feel like I was being a "PITA". The insurance company was giving us a run around for a month! It was finally resolved. Carla was extremely helpful and we managed to keep each other laughing!!! I do not live close to his office now, but I will never change this doctor! Thank you Dr. Duran & staff! I am forever grateful to you.

My experience with Dr. Duran Martinez was excellent. His office is well organized and he has a very attentive and efficient staff. Dr. Duran was very knowledgeable, informative, concerned and very helpful. I value the kind personal attention i received and I am sure that he has provided me with great medical advice to resolve my medical issue. I highly recommend Dr, Duran Martinez.

Dr.Duran Martinez is outstanding.He has been my sons doctor for over five years. He is the best doctor we have ever seen his patient and listens and explains everything.

I had to change nephrologist and happened upon this practice by chance. This office is wonderful. The front office staff is very helpful and will work with you. Dr Duran is friendly, understanding, and patient in explaining the treatment plan. Love this office and am really happy I found them.

An amazing Nephrologist. Takes his time with you and explains everything in easy to understand terms even if you have a medical background.
