Frustration I love Dr. Baum. That being said, I am 79 years old and have COPD. I have been seeing Dr. Baum for over ten years. I have called the office five times this year trying to get an appointment. The scheduling staff have been rude and nasty. I am always told I'll be put on a waiting list.I am frustrated and offended. I am forced to find another pulmonologist.

Excellent doctor. Caring and knowledgeable.

No follow-up, no diagnosis either Talks a big game, does nothing. She has no clue as to the etiology of my issues. Ignored the medical history info I provided her, esp. as related to my lungs.The office canceled a return visit even though we made a 2nd appointment when we visited last time. First she was on vacation they said, then the appointment vanished. I do not recommend this doctor or her office staff. Wasted my time and money.

I had a persistent cough that lasted for a month and I finally when to a Pulmonologist. Dr. Baum was very thorough, patient and provided the medicine I needed with cured my problem in less then a week. I recommend her highly.

very good doctor I saw the doctor a couple of times and she spent considerable amount of time during my visit. She is very thorough and was very positive. The only negative thing is that its difficult to get an appointment because she works in the ICU plus her practice.

I would strongly suggest searching for a Dr. who is caring and empathetic, which are attributes I cannot ascribe to Dr Baum. Three and a half years ago, my dad and I brought my mom to the hospital with breathing issues. Finally, after several hours, Dr Baum came to the waiting room. She did not have the grace to admit that she was the one responsible for intubating mom, which caused a double perforation. This necessitated an emergency stomach operation or she would die of sepsis. This further compromised mom’s entire breathing situation. Later that week, Dr. Baum had the nerve to claim she had tried to find us before this, but she couldn’t have tried hard, because we were in that waiting room or by my mother’s side every single day, all day. The rep recorded two similar conversations with my family, one after my sister flew in from CA. During the recordings, Dr. Baum said my mom had “lousy lungs” 6 times within the first 12’, as well as “s**t happens”. . Mom was on a ventilator for 2 weeks before she passed away. Some of the personnel in the ICU area remarked that the stomach perforation was a major setback. My whole family found Dr. Baum to be coarse and utterly lacking in compassion and humility. I still have nightmares about this, which makes it harder for me to get past it all. In my profession of psychology, we advocate the venting of feelings to try to heal deep hurt. In doing so, with this review, I hope to also help others avoid a Dr. so lacking in the ability to feel the emotions of others, during traumatic health events

Later that week, Dr. B claimed she had tried to find us before this, but we were in that waiting room or by my mother’s side every single day, all day. A hospital rep recorded two similar conversations with my family, during which Dr. B said my mom had “lousy lungs” 6 times within the first 12’, as well as “s**t happens”. . Mom was on a vent for 2 wks before passing away. Personnel in the ICU area remarked that the stomach perforation was a major setback. My family found Dr. Baum to be coarse and utterly lacking in compassion and humility. I still have nightmares about this, 3 1/2 yrs later. Drs need to show compassion during traumatic health events.

Have been seeing Dr. Baum for just under one year.. Have had two appointments cancelled by her office and rescheduled the last one being two or three weeks later than my original appointment. I got to her office 10 to 15 minutes late because there was no valet service and had to drive around for a parking spot. I have severe COPD and it took longer for me to get to her office. I was huffing and puffing when I arrived only to be told she would not see me. Her next available was in 12 days. They give me an appointment with another doctor for the following day. When I got there they said it was not for that day but the following. I go to rehab the morning they said my appointment was for and would NEVER have made it for that day. ABSOLUTELY NO compassion. I now have an appointment with another pulmonary doctor. Hopefully one with compassion
