Dr. Desser is amazing. He replaced both my knees in 2019. 10 weeks apart. He explained everything. Great bedside manner. Awesome staff. He uses the Swiftpath method. My surgery was scheduled for 7 am and I was home by 2 pm. I highly recommend him.

Doctor Desser is an absolutely AMAZING man--a post-modern Rennaissance Man in every possible permutation of that term. He's SO much more than an accomplished, innovative, and technically proficient surgeon. He's an erudite, educated, and intellectually sophisticated human being. His thirst for knowledge about surgery and medicine is equaled by his hunger for knowledge and understanding about a wealth of diverse subjects. These would include the psychological makeup of people and of patients; the nature of experienced pain, subjective as it is, and--therefore--unique to each patient; the science involved in communication technology and how the medium of transmitting knowledge affects the way knowledge is, or isn't, absorbed or retained; the kinesthetics and physiology of exercise; understanding nutrition and how its changing based upon modern tastes and preferences--there's just so much more in this man than just the pigeonholed title "DOCTOR." He surgically replaced my knee and I was getting physical therapy a mere four hours after coming out of anesthesia. He had me UP and on my feet, walking around, before my wound even stopped draining! This GREATLY reduced my levels of pain, immobility--and ENABLED me to STOP my dependence upon the HIGHLY ADDICTIVE, PROFOUNDLY POWERFUL OxyContin 60mg--that I'd been taking four times a day for YEARS before the surgery. The day after my Total Knee Replacement surgery I was able to stop taking that addictive horror-show of a medication COLD-TURKEY with NO DIFFICULTY due to his and his staff's support and help. They enabled me to stop that way because they had faith in my personal "won't power," as in: "I won't take this poison again!" So they gave me a lesser dose of a shorter-acting pain medication and I'm able to survive on a much lower dose, taken as needed from one to four times (very rarely) a day. The best thing that I can say about Dr. Desser, and his Nurse-Practitioner assistant, Aditi, is that I receive a level of compassionate care from them where it's the ideal that we all seek and rarely receive: They LISTEN to me, and they treat me as a human being not a mere patient or case file. I've come to love them both dearly in the 30-months that I've remained under their care. I look forward to maintaining a friendship with this remarkable, complex human being long into my future and beyond my time as his patient. I believe that God blessed me with a surgeon like Dr. Dana Desser. Thankful doesn't begin to describe the feelings that he inspires in me.

He was a compassionate young doctor when he did my total knee replacement in 2012. I wish he still took Humana Gold Ins.
