List of Edward L Tobinick Md's Reviews
I would give zero rating if available. This guy is a con man prying on the most vulnerable patient. preying on disable seniors desperately seeking an answer for stroke recover. i had absolutely no improvement whatsoeve. paid 7500.00 and zero results. His answer was to pay another 7500 for a second round. Absolutely not. Beware of this crook. He make promises he can't back up.
My son Joel had 3 Perispinal Etanercept treatment s 4 years ago given by Dr Tobinick. As a scientist, reading all the relevant independent scientific literature before making the long and challenging trip from Australia was an important part of our decision to seek this treatment. Since receiving this treatment Joel has had sustained improvements in speech, swallowing, memory, concentration and mobility. In recognition for the importance in getting this available to others who need this treatment, we set up a charity (Stroke Recovery Trial Fund LTD) to fund medical clinical trials to get Perispinal Etanercept treatment approved in Australia). The first of these clinical trials is currently underway (see our website for more details. For Joel and the many others who I have personally spoken to after having this treatment – the improvements following Perispinal Etanercept Treatment are well worth every cent.
Scam!! Save your money! They try to convince you there's been a change when in reality nothing has changed.
I'm sickened that my father has spent over $15,000 at this place. He received 2 injections with no significant change. What upsets me most is that they try to convince you that they see a difference. Stroke survivors hold onto hope that something will happen with their deficits and feel this establishment preys on these people. Please don't waste your money going there
People...there is NO guarantee this treatment will work and you know that. We went to the clinic last year and had a great experience. Albeit we did not see the results we were hoping for we went in knowing that a miracle was a slim chance of happening.
Terrible experience! $7’000 poorer no results
Dr Tobinik's practice is a fraud. He charged us $7,000 to treat my wife 2.5 years after her stroke. She was actually treated by a different doctor in his clinic, Dr Levine I think, who is also not a neurologist. What made me really mad was, after the injection, they do an evaluation to see if she has improved. Dr Levine tried to convince us that my wife was walking better, etc after the shot. She wasn't. She was actually walking a little worse (her tone had kicked in a little more). I find such actions as this to be TOTALLY UNETHICAL. Don't go near this place, don't call them, don't give them any money, don't let them treat you. Finally, don't let the fancy name of his clinic fool you. It is not an institute in any way. It is just an average doctor's office at best. What a scam. If you don't trust my review, then read tons of other similar reviews about this doctor on other review web sites.
The entire process felt like the most vulnerable of vulnerable were being taking advantage of during this ordeal. Eventually, our family became very uncomfortable and more importantly felt that are father was a victim. I would more of given this experience one star, but it was the only way to post.
not worth it. does not work at all as advertised. please save your time and money
I couldn't find the page for INR led by Tobinick at their new location, so I am leaving my review on here to warn anyone to stay away from this place. My father suffered from a stroke earlier this year and came across this place via their youtube videos. He was hooked and hell bent on me taking him there. Being a skeptic, I looked up the reviews and felt uneasy about it, but decided to take a chance and inquire information on my father's behalf. I call, they give me info about their consult fee (which is $500). I run it by my dad who is still so eager about it and he says it's ok. I call back and schedule the call and tell them I want to provide enough time for them to receive his medical records from his hospital. I schedule this call TWO WEEKS out, just to be safe and trust they will get the records back in time. Two weeks pass and it's consult day (via phone). We call in for it and are put in touch with Helen Rodriguez, who is their nurse practitioner. $500 dollars and all we get is an NP, not the MD who actually runs the place? Not only that but she was FREAKING RUDE and POMPOUS and asked twice if the call was being recorded. SKETCH ALERT! She makes it sound like it's a privilege for us to be able to go there. GET OUT OF HERE WITH THAT MARKETING GARBAGE HELEN. I still feel like it's a rip after the call is over but send in the records they asked for. About 45 minutes after the call, I get a phone call from someone in their office asking me which hospital my dad went to because I didn't specify on the medical release form. WAIT A DAMN MINUTE, YOU HAD US PAY $500 TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE WHO ISN'T A DOCTOR FOR LESS THAN AN HOUR AND SHE HAD NO MEDICAL RECORDS!? WHAT A JOKE AND A RIP OFF! I call back the following week to express my unhappiness to which a very nice receptionist says she will escalate the matter to her supervisor. Her supervisor calls the next day and tries to blame the hospital and says it's an error on their part. PUMP YOUR BRAKES LADY, THAT IS AN OUTRIGHT LIE. DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE. THEY ARE UNORGANIZED SCAMMERS.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
