If I could give this doctor and office 0 stars I would but I have to put in at least 1 so he got 1. I would not send my worst enemy to this office/doctor. After waiting a month for someone to actually get back to me to schedule an appointment I had 2 appointments cancelled within 2 days of each other. I heard lies upon lies from everyone in this office. There is no compassion from the doctor or the office staff. My pediatrician referred me to this doctor but I have since told him to NEVER send anyone to this doctor again. I had an awful experience that I wouldn't wish on anyone. When a child is sick without an explanation the last thing a mother wants is lies from a doctor's office. I hope no one has to go through what I went through.

Fabulous doctor. Helped save my son's life when he was at West Boca with pneumonia. He's very thorough and a caring. I appreciated all that he did for my son.

Dr Mateo saved my daughter’s life when she was just a baby. We have seen him for the last 14 years. He is a knowledgeable and kind. Unfortunately scheduling with him has been difficult. But if you can get in on the days he is available he is a thorough doctor who will not fail to give you the best care.

Dr. Mateo! I have nothing but AMAZING things to say about him! He was thorough in his explanations and treatment plans. He included me every step of the way when our daughter was incredibly ill. It was almost as if he didn't want us to leave his office without first understanding all the ins and outs of our daughters diagnosis and treatment plan. Not condescending, doesn't have a huge ego, and will listen to all your frustrations and questions without a chip on his shoulder. He is one-in-a-million!!!

Dr. Mateo's bedside manner was terrible. It was really hard to see past that to even trust in his clinical judgement

Doctor is extremely thorough and very friendly, would highly recommend him. Ease of appointment is not so great, but apparently infectious doctors spend their days in hospitals, not offices, so it is expected.

Dr. Mateo is a wonderful doctor but getting through to the office is terrible. They never answer the phone so you have to leave a message which is always never returned. You have to just keep calling or hit the prompt that says you are a doctor calling to speak to anyone.

I'd like to state this is solely based on my experience with the Doctor. When initially moved to fl I was in need of an I.D Dr. Somehow, I was referred to Dr. Mateo man what a mistake. Coming from a hospital like UNC I'll admit I had very high expectations.My expectations demished quick after one visit. Keep in mind @ the time I had been newly diagnosed about 27 at the time. Like the person who left a review before me I'd have to agree worst staff ever (& I have all kinds of insurance). I feel the Dr. was not professional or personable. He told me " I must've been infected for @ least 10yrs". That wasn't possible but its a statement I remember till this day(I later rely that info to my Dr @ UNC & told me THAT WASNT TRU). I can't speak on the practice he has now but there an old adage " a leopard never changes their spots". I honestly felt like a worst emotionally &physically after visiting him. One of the main reasons i decided 2 depart from Florida was enlight his lack of care & abrasive staff. Now I'm back in Florida and in need of a doctor. I came across his name and felt the need 2 get this off my chest. By nomeans am I trying to blemish his record.as I stated before this is based on my experience & my opinion. However, I do hope he & his read the reviews & take heed.

Avoid this office (and boca raton) at all costs if you can. What a terrible medical office.
