Kahlil A Shillingford's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Shillingford and his staff are wonderful! I had VSG in 2015 and have always been thankful ever since! I lost 110 lbs, but am maintaining at 90 lbs lost. It has been such an amazing tool. It takes getting used to, but it has been extremely successful in helping me enjoy life to it's fullest! I will always be thankful to Dr. Shillingford and what his expertise did to help my life!

I see Katie left a review 3 months ago with a similar experience to my own recently. Dr. Shillingford did my gallbladder removal 5 years ago. I have nothing but good things to say about the surgeon. However, his office staff falls way short. In particular, one Edith whom I had the unfortunate experience to deal with recently when I tried to go to the good doctor for a hernia repair. Everything with Edith is deflection. The fault always laid with someone else. Long story short, because of poor communication on the part of Edith. My first scheduled date was missed. My wife was helping me with this matter since I work during the day and cannot be on the phone long periods of time. A $300 booking fee, as Edith called it, was the first stumbling block. Edith claimed multiple attempts were made to contact my wife to collect the fee to setup my appointment with the hospital. My wife received a phone call and voicemail from Nubia. My wife called back but no answer. My wife informed me. I called and received no answer. This was during their open business hours. Edith would later claim I must've called when they were already closed. Upon speaking with Edith, she gave me a date in September for a Thursday. I agreed and said I would call back to pay this "booking fee" to get the ball rolling. I again could not reach them by phone. My wife and I did finally reach Nubia. Nubia informed us she did not know why Edith would tell us Thursday since that's not a day the doctor performs surgeries. I had a back and forth with Edith via email. As another reviewer pointed out. She liked to respond in all CAPS in purple lettering and poor sentence structure. Edith claimed they had an office manager who was aware of my situation. And, the doctor was aware as well. I asked to speak to both. Of course, I never did hear from the doctor or office manager. I wonder if one even exists. Because of this one individual. We could not trust or feel comfortable with the staff to have my health and best interest at heart. We found another surgeon at MHS. The staff was very attentive and helpful. They helped with my insurance and disability paperwork. I was able to get a schedule without any issue. And no $300 "booking fee". Dr. Shillingford's staff was much better five years ago. I'm not sure what transpired during then and now. But, it's clear someone in the office should retire or find another line of work. I hear Walmart is looking for a disgruntled staff who doesn't care about providing good customer support. My apologies to Walmart. They have enough issues and do not deserve a staff to only worsen their experience.

Unhelpful. Only option to get information is a zoom meeting on Thursdays at 5 pm and if you’re working, well too bad. No other option. Disappointed after all the other good reviews. I guess he’s too busy.

Had surgery 08/17/2022 I am very happy with the service that I recieved from all his staff and the communication. Dr. Shillingford is very professional and did an excellent job on my surgery I couldn't be happier. And I can't wait for my results and to get the weight off. My surgery was performed at Coral Springs hospital and I couldn't be happier with care that I received. Everything was well coordinated from the meetings to my surgery I 100% percent recommended Dr. Shillingford

Un equipo de enfermeras muy profesionales pendiente cada minuto de sus pacientes ,su equipo de mantenimiento y aseo todo el tiempo pendientes , la persona encargada de mi alimentación al igual , esto sin mencionar la señorita Eddi la cual a respondido a todas mis inquietudes vía telefónica, en verdad fue una decisión muy sabia de mi parte haber elegido este equipo para tratarme . It's been a while since I've had my sleeve done, but the experience was amazing. He has that perfect "Doctor bedside vibe" that you want and need as a patient undergoing something like this. His staff made you feel comfortable as well. I would recommend him to any and everyone without hesitation

The staff and Dr. Shillingford are amazing. Great pre-op and post-op care. I had surgery scheduled within 2 and 1/2 weeks of initial consultation. I knew right away, he was the surgeon I wanted. I am 7 days post-op and feeling better each day. Thank you 😊 Dr. Shillingford!

Dr. Shillingford himself is a great doctor. This review is entirely for his office staff. I had a sleeve done in 2019 and that went great but somewhere in the middle of 2020 I started experiencing symptoms of a spigelian hernia which can be a complication of the sleeve.I was put off because of covid and its variants and when the hospital finally started doing those surgeries again I contacted the office. The communication of the office staff member I dealt with is inconsistant at best. She never sent me labs, pre op instructions, she would not reply to my phone calls for a few weeks. She once sceduled me and didn't tell me or confirm with me at all and when I asked for the written proof she claimed she had that I did, she could not provide it because it did not exist. The reason this is a big deal is because she tried to charge me a rescheduling fee for canceling the first sceduled proceedure which I could not make and had no idea was scheduled until two weeks beforehand. When I protested and asked for proof, she claimed it was a program fee everyone pays and doesn't go through insurance which was a red flag to me. I asked for something in writing explaining what I was being charged for and she revised her statement to it being a rescheduling fee. Her emailed correspondance with me is written in all caps, bright purple text with no punctuation or sentence structure. She is completely incompetent and I had to cancel my hernia repair because I cannot trust her to do her job correctly and no matter how often I tried to talk to someone else I would get routed back to her.
