I am so grateful Dr. O’Connor found the tumor on my husband’s MRI report when he was in Bethesda hospital. has eased both my husband and my self through my husband ordeal,I can’t thank him and his staff enough 👏👏
Great bedside manners, approachable , empathetic. Take your kindle to read, make sure you give your self enough time to arrive on time since construction in the roads and at hospital makes it hard to find the building. However adding up the construction and waiting time, it’s totally worth it. You will receive caring and honest patient care from the entire team.
Dr. O’Connor review my imaging and gave me the great news I dont need surgery. Before seen him I was evaluated by an orthopedic surgeon who recommended urgent surgical intervention, thankfully I followed my gut and scheduled an appointment with Dr. Oconnor for a second opinion. I’am now in my 6th week of physical theraphy and feel great. Thank you Dr. Oconnor for your honesty and work ethics.
Incredibly skilled neurosurgeon, and a wonderful human being.
This was the worst experience from this doctor! My mother almost died because of him. Make sure you get a second or third opinion.
Dr. O' Connor is not only an amazing neurosurgeon but such a sweet and lovely person as well. I had pain in my lumbar region, and terrible leg pain for almost two years. After trying chiropractic care, physical therapy and cortisone shots to no avail, I finally had a consultation with an orthopedic surgeon. He said that due to the many problems I had in my back and the pain radiating down through both of my legs the best option would be surgery. I decided to put it off for a while and wasn't sure what I was going to do, since it seemed like such a big decision. The surgeon seemed competent enough and was nice but I just didn't have the feeling that I wanted to go ahead with him. And then a few months later still in terrible pain. I went for a second opinion with Dr. O'Connor. I first met with Fran Brandt his PA, and she was wonderful, kind and understanding and explaining everything to me on my MRI in a much more thorough manner than I had previously had it explained to me. And then when I met Dr. O'Connor I felt totally comfortable and I knew that if I was going to proceed with surgery, this was going to be the place for me to go. I wanted to get a second opinion and I found Dr. O' Connor and his wonderful PA; Fran Brandt. She too had the sweetest personality and explained everything on my MRI in a much more thorough way than it had been explained to me previously. It's probably still a little early to give a review since I'm only 3 days out of surgery, But I feel like the pain is so much less than I ever anticipated. A good deal of my leg pain is gone. And naturally have pain at my incision sites. I had an anterior posterior procedure so they had to go in through my abdomen and my back as well. I saw Dr. O'Connor and Fran two times after the operation and they both seemed happy with the results. And Boca Regional had some of the best most competent and nicest nurses as well that I've ever met. And I went over some physical therapy routines with the hospital physical therapist and will continue with some aftercare at home. I will definitely post back in a few weeks to give an update on my progress which I think is only fair since it's so early in the game. But I have a gut feeling that I'm going to recover very well, having done so well so far so early after having had major surgery and with knowing what to do and what not to do during the recovery phase through the instructions of the hospital nurses and the physical therapist. I truly feel I lucked out finding such a truly wonderful neurosurgeon, and PA. They are truly the best!
Today is the day after my microdiscectomy surgery at the blessed hands of Dr. Timothy O'Connor. Preceding, I spent 15 days barely able to walk, stand or be in any position without uncontrollable, excruciating pain emanating from my lower back and radiating into my left leg, down to my knee and to my ankle. After consulting my primary care physician, other doctors and friends, I chose to reach out to Dr. O'Connor. He is a miracle worker! I awakened from surgery around 3pm yesterday, PAIN FREE. Let me repeat: PAIN FREE. I am now able to walk, stand, and above all sleep again. Thank you, Dr. O'Connor, for giving me back my life! Additionally, Kudos to the staff in Dr. O'Connor's Boynton Beach office who treated me with empathy and great care from the get-go.
I have suffered with back pain for 10 long years. I am 39. I have been to many doctors seeking help for my pain, but felt dismissed because of the fact that I’m too young, not over weight, and do not have any other major heath problems, nor were my injuries caused by an accident. They made me feel like I was imagining the pain I was experiencing. When I began seeing Dr. O’Connor I immediately felt accepted, understood, and comfortable. He took time to explain my diagnosis to me, and took my pain seriously. When we decided surgery was the best option, I had the utmost confidence that I would would be in good hands. The month prior to surgery I could barely walk due to a large herniated disc that was putting pressure on my nerves and causing severe stenosis. I haven’t slept through the night in over 6 months. Every day tasks were becoming harder to accomplish. Today I am 3weeks post op, and I have had zero sciatic pain since I woke from surgery. My use of pain killers is nearly zero, and I am walking upright, sleeping incredibly well, and enjoying not making every decision based On my level of pain. Even though I am still in a recovery period, For the first time in 10 years, I actually feel optimistic about the future health of my back. Dr. O’Connor and his assistant Dr. Parra are both very kind and care for their patients. I absolutely recommend their care to anyone seeking treatment for back pain. Thank you so much for changing my life!!! Stephanie Maniaci
Dr. O’Connor ( a “miracle worker”) performed a microdiscectomy on my lumbar spine 2 weeks ago! From my initial visit to today’s post-surgical appointment, he treated me with the utmost kindness and respect. He took his time listening to my pre-surgical laments and made me aware of all the options available to me to ease my pain. Thank goodness, I chose surgery as I am now pain free after months of being unable to walk without being in agony. Words cannot express my gratitude to Dr. O’Connor, his physician assistants and nurses for their extraordinary care. Everyone is above and beyond knowledgeable and cordial! By the way, the surgery was performed at Bethesda West, where I was made to feel like a “first class” patient and where everyone went out of their way to make sure not only that I was clear about the procedure, but that I was comfortable.
Dr. O'Connor performed my emergency microdiscectomy and I would highly recommend him! He is kind, attentive, responsive, and an excellent surgeon. I am up and walking miles per day after just 2 weeks. His whole staff is outstanding, really cares about the patients, and made me feel comfortable throughout the process.
