Vijay Samant's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Samant is a wonderful physician. He has helped my family with some difficult infectious wounds. He is patient and kind. If you need a doctor for infectious wounds, he is the best. Highly recommend

I saw Dr. Samant for 12 visits for a wound that would not heal. He had his nurses change my bandages every time, but he failed to diagnose my problem which was blocked arteries in my legs. I didn't know this was my problem until I went to another wound care doctor & he sent me to a cardiovascular surgeon the first visit. I was told by the nurse in the new doctor's office that I could have had a stroke and died. She told me that the first thing they check for leg wounds that don't heal is blocked arteries. I feel that Dr. Samant was negligent in my care.

I saw Dr. Samant at the Gloria Drummond Wound Care Center. He has no business working there....his knowledge is extremely limited. I had an extremely serious wound from radiation. All he did was have the nurses change the bandages. Since he saw me for 5 weeks, he should have figured out that blood wasn't flowing through my legs.. ..which is why my wounds weren't healing. I found out later that I had 2 blockages of 85% in my legs & should have been referred to a vascular surgeon. The nurse from the another wound that l went to said that I could have died and knowing about vascular blockages was wound care 101 !!! Obviously he didn't take that class. He admits he is 'an old fashioned doctor'. Well, That doesn't fly in this day and age. He also did nothing for my extreme pain. Again, I was given a prescription for nerve pain from my new wound care doctor...something Dr. Samant didn't recommend at all. He probably didn't even know. ..... what a waste of my time and Medicare's $$!
