This place is weird. Upon arriving, the two ladies at the front were on the phone and didn't acknowledge me waiting...which is fine. I was called back and the visit starts with X-rays (sure, still seems normal) but after that the dental assistant pulls up Microsoft teams and has you virtually meet with a dentist who goes over your X-rays and gives their opinion on a treatment plan. Then the dental hygienist comes in after and counts the mm of the gum line to check for gum disease...You would think this is all the evaluation you need but NOPE. After the virtual dentist, and the hygienist the dentist in the actual office comes into the room and recounts the gum line and getting different numbers than the hygienist....It doesn't stop there....the dental hygienist comes back in with their "treatment plan", not the doctors but their own plan that is not covered by insurance. This entire process took 1.5 hours and included a subpar office, the dental assistant switching from using the computer to putting her fingers in your mouth with the same pair of gloves...I denied the treatment plan and told them I was getting a bad vibe from the office and left. I've never gone to a dentist where there were so many levels just to get a teeth cleaning, and the virtual part of the appointment just weirded me out.
Do yourself a favor and stay away from Coast Dental in Boynton Beach. This was my experience: 1- My appt. was at 8:30 AM on Thursday, didn't see the doctor until about 10:30, just for a few minutes. He looked at my x-rays, said "something is going on there, let me refer you to a specialist that can do laser surgery", said he would prescribe antibiotics and Motrin (OTC pain medication even though my pain was very intense by then), and sent me back to the waiting room to get my referral and prescriptions. A whole hour went by because "the doctor is in surgery and needs to sign the papers" ... They said I could leave and they would call me when the papers were signed and ready (they really wanted me away because by then the waiting room was full of overbooked patients!). Glad I stayed because I later found out it is impossible to talk to the office over the phone (calls go to some calling center somewhere in the US -maybe-). I finally got the prescriptions by 12:15 after I lost my patience and raised my voice to complain. 2- Saturday morning I left a message for a doctor or nurse to call me because the pain was getting way worse. After waiting for a couple hours, I called back and talked to a "live" person that would only make appointments for Monday because the office was closed for the weekend. When I asked what to do for dental emergency (which was a question neither the doctor nor the attendants answered on Thursday), I was told there were only 2 options: a- Schedule an appointment for Monday or b- Have a virtual appointment for which I must pay $99 up front, and insurance will not be accepted (they made that very clear over the phone) ... And that is when I realized why the doctor would not talk to me about pain medication when it was obvious from the x-ray that there was a dental infection in progress: THIS IS A RIP OFF COMPANY MAKING MONEY OUT OF YOUR PAIN BY NOT MANAGING THE SITUATION DURING THE OFFICE CONSULTATION WHEN THE X-RAY CLEARLY SHOWS THERE IS A VERY PAINFUL DENTAL INFECTION IN PROGRESS. INSTEAD, THEY EXPECT YOU TO REACH OUT AFTER HOURS SO THEY CAN CHARGE YOU $99 UP FRONT FOR A VIRTUAL CONSULTATION THAT WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY INSURANCE!!!! THIS IS WHITE-COLLAR CRIME!
Absolute scam artists. I'm paying off for services rendered that were not rendered correctly. They made and put in a crown that came out less than 5 months later. That is not the way that a crown should be done. When I asked them about getting a replacement they told me I'd have to pay for everything again. I'm still currently paying off the previous one. I even called corporate to file a complaint against the area supervisor who was a complete and utter rude human being. She refused to deal with me while I was quote unquote emotional after being served a bill for double what I was currently paying. Highway robbery. Corporate said they'd file a complaint against the manager for her behavior but could do nothing about reimbursing me for the crown that they didn't put in correctly in the first place. Crowns are not meant to leave your mouth after 5 months. I have another one that I've had for 18 years, so I know the difference. I would never recommend this place to another person, and I'm ashamed to say that somebody had first recommended them to me.
Let me start off by saying that I had a very terrible experience at this office. I had to wait almost an hour for someone to see me, I have dental insurance which they accepted but charged me for the X-rays and beginning exam as a new patient. The Hygenist named Leslie has token full advantage of me as a young woman and somehow diagnosed me with "Perio" and stated that I'm now a "perio patient" that I'll need to come back for maintenance cleaning and the same day she had me stay for an extra 2-3 hours as she missed her lunch break for me to work on my mouth, she charged me so much money for antibiotics etc and an Impression tray that she said I needed and there were two that cost a lot of money. The actual Dr. Did nothing to me he only saw my teeth and said they were perfect teeth. First of all, Leslie is not a DR. and she kept stating that I had bacteria and I may have an infection and build up so she did a needless procedure by numbing my gums which barely numbed and she worked on loosening my deep pockets in my gums (whatever that means). She completely took over and I was leaving suppose to come back at 3pm to get my fillings with Dr. But that didn't happen. She got me on a payment plan which effected me and I will never never never recommend this place to anybody. Leslie should be losing her job because she took full control and only put me in jeopardy. I went to the oral surgeon to check if my wisdom teeth were ready to come out with all the pain I've been experiencing and they said my wisdom teeth are impacted and I have no infections of any kind. I am really disturbed and pissed, I also found out that my friend goes to the same Coast dental and she has the same TERRIBLE experience, we are 20 and 21 years old. If ANYBODY has had any bad experiences PLEASE PLEASE REACH OUT TO ME. This has been going way too far, and Leslie KNOWS what she's doing she is scamming every patient in there and she makes people feel comforted and happy about any decisions she brings to the table!!!!
I had the worst experience here ever! This lady named Leslie took full advantage of her new patients and said I had perio and charged me for c-rays regular cleaning . Made me pay out of pocket when my insurance covers my dental needs it was so sad being taking advantage of.... I would never recommend this place to anyone they are money hungry seriously how is the hygienist going to diagnose me for the dr when their job is to only do as the dr says this place is very unprofessional and they don't know what they are doing
Please never go to this office. they just want to steal your money. The wait there is ridiculous. No one wants to help including the manger.
I went in today April 21st for liners and let's just say they told me the consultation was free but still ended up paying $50 for X-rays my appointment was at 9:20 didn't get called back til 10ish the girl that did my X-rays was so beyond rude no personality and very rough the entire process let's just say my mouth is all cut up from the inside I even told her that was the worst X-ray I've ever received in my life I'm not sure if will be returning for services
AVOID !!! Money hungry office, dentist doesn't want to actully help there patients. I would never recommend coming here and the office is unsanitary. The office tried to over charge me, the dentist doesn't know what she's talking about. I went for a simple cavity fill an she told me the pain was from brushing to hard because she didn't want to fill it.
Very unprofessional place. They will book your appointment then wait until you in the chair to tell you a price lol
Unprofessional and incompetent throughout the office. I visited here after breaking a molar while on vacation. I first encountered a dental assistant who asked why I was there and started setting up for an X-ray. I told her I wanted to talk with the dentist first about the need for an X-ray. She rolled her eyes and walked out of the room. The dentist came in, looked in my mouth and declared that she didn't see any broken teeth. I told her to try looking on the other side of my mouth where the broken molar was. She then said she could see it and would need the X-ray. When I checked out I was told that my insurance covered the charges. A month later, I received a letter that said they needed to bill my medical insurance first. The letter did not contain a phone number or email. I looked up the number and called THREE times. One time, they gave me an email that didn't work. Two times I was told that they would call me back at the end of the day. That didn't happen. I finally received a bill which I am just going to pay because it is easier than dealing with this incompetence. I'm sure there are better choices there for dental care

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
