I am a 80 yr old male, who had eye surgery for cataracts & trifocal lens (IOL) implants, beginning on Jun 17th 2021 by Dr Barry Schechter. Six weeks later, I am totally pleased with the work that he performed. I can now see clearly on all levels, closeup, mid-range, and distance, independent of wearing external eye glasses. He is an outstanding confident ophthalmological surgeon, who assured me at all times that there would be no problem respecting my wishes during the surgery and healing process. He answered all of our questions before the procedure and made my wife and I feel very confident that he was the best doctor for me. He restored my confidence in the medical profession all the way through Pre & Post Surgery of my eye cataract removal, and lens replacement; he never once doubted my successful recovery. He cautioning me on all the do's and don'ts for a successful recovery after surgery. In addition, his medical assistants were excellent towards me throughout the process along with all of the his other office staff. My wife and I both thank you very much for your calm demeanor, total confidence, and providing a total care office environment. Dr Barry A. Schechter, MD has properly diagnosed my eyes and determined that he could remove my cataracts and correct my vision with IOL implants, so that I would no longer need external glasses again for the rest of my life. I have undergone this operation and I can truly say that now I am eyeglasses free. I presently have excellent vision for closeup, medium and distant vision since surgery that took place only six weeks ago. At 80 years of age, I am no longer a slave to my trifocal external glasses that previously was on my eyes or in my pocket at all times. I have put away glasses in less than two weeks. He is an experienced ophthalmologist, professional, optimistic, kind, knowledgeable, with a great staff and had a positive outlook that made me feel very comfortable throughout the surgery process. I highly recommend Dr Schechter as a very competent ophthalmological surgeon; while rating him a 5 star doctor in his trained profession.

Glaucoma surgery with complications. Dr. Criss was always there for me. He is an extremely talented Doctor and in my case really went that extra mile to fix my eye. Happy to say I am getting better. Relieved to say that Dr. Criss is there if so need him.

Awesome results! I had cataract surgery in both eyes early 2019 and I’m very happy with the results. Dr. Criss is very good at what he does. The team is professional and efficient. Dealing with the insurance company was a breeze. For the replacement lens, I had a choice between a standard lens that insurance was paying for or a “High Definition” lens that was $500 for each eye. After discussing with Dr. Criss, I opted for the HD lenses and I'm very happy I did. My recommendation is, if you can afford them, do not hesitate to choose the HD lenses: they are worth every penny. My vision is clear and crisp. I’m VERY happy with the results. I’m approvingly recommending Dr. Criss and his team to all my friends.

This practice is a disaster and so was my care. Here are the facts: I was seen by another ophthalmologist in the area for what looked like a cancer in my eye. He said if it wasn't cancer it is likely pre cancerous. I was upset and sought another opinion Schecter. He was a little too quick to biopsy it and then when it was done that there was nothing to worry about and go home. All didn't sound so trusting so I went to the original practice for a second opinion to Schecter's work and the doctor asked me what was the pathology results. I didn't know. He asked for the medical records and basically said what he read was useless from the notes. Called and got the actually pathologist notes and it was read as pre cancerous with one area as carcinoma. I nearly died. We now have a lot of work to do to keep me from losing vision and my eye. I'm so glad I went back to the original doctor because he is a class act and a quality doctor that is thorough. I will live but I need more surgery. I don't recommend anyone go here for surgery or something serious. Place is a factory with bad techs.

Was referred to Dr. Schechter for a very serious eye issue. He is the most kind and caring doctor I have ever come in contact with . His staff is very professional and treats you like they actually care about you. Which they do! I highly recommend Dr. Schechter and his office staff!Gail M
